Greenseed3
Sweet! now if we could just focus on getting a head coach, a QB and a RB we'll be set.

Greenseed3
This language is so ambivalent it's almost non-news. A "signing" doesn't equate to a roster spot. It means one more kicker will be present at training camp.... not big news, by any means. Furthermore, if we allocate a roster spot to an additional kicker, I want to see a midget-man set atop the thickest thighs the game has ever seen. I want to see thick-legs take the field with just a head sitting above them; booming kick-off field-goals from the defender's 35. We need too much versatility to carry 3 kickers. I thought you couldn't sign more players than you have roster spots? You can't have more than the camp limit (I think it's 80) without exemptions like the NFLE guys get. Start of the season is 53 I think, plus the PS. I agree that the team seems to favor versatility, but all those versatile guys might be able to save a spot for a valuable specialist like a KO guy. They probably just want an extra guy in camp for practice and in case Nuge gets hurt.

June 1st cuts limit roster size to, eighty-something (I believe), so this signing might be a reflection of an unreported Nugent injury, a simple advantage being taken of the recent Dwight and Chatham PUP allocations, or maybe "just cause"..... Our coach strikes me as the type to keep the maximum limit filled (to the limit) If one guy goes down (on PUP, or the waiver wire) that extra space will be used.... It benefits the team... (competition-wise). Everytime a player gets cut, I'd expect to see a signing... their is no benefit to an empty roster space before the final 53 is called for. This signing has nothing to do with a Nugent injury. It has everything to do with needing another kicker in camp to work on kickoff returns/etc.
