Blackout
Reyes does not make the lineup if it comes down to him or Jeter. I like the kid, he's got hustle. if i move him to RF he's like Rickey Henderson lite.

I'll take them over your NY team. No Manny or Beckett on your "rest of baseball team" is a joke.
Arsis
putting giambi on first is dumb. At that point you tell giambi to **** off and put jeter on 1st and keep reyes at short. You then put your line-up something like: Reyes Jeter Wright A-rod Beltran Abreu Matsui Posada Cano. I think the all NY team has a shot of winning. I'd say the NY team would win in 7. Sharrow
Move Jeter to first and put Reyes at SS, problem solved, and its probably where Jeter should be playing anyway. I don't really agree with a lot of the choices for the rest of baseball either, especially some of the pitching. Anyway, I would say the rest in 4 or 5. Jetlag
Infield should be: 1B: Wright 2B: Reyes SS: Jeter 3B: Arod Why you wouldn't have some combination of those 4 being your infield would be completely retarded. As for the SS debate, if Jeter wasn't moved to 3B for A-Rod they sure as SH*T shouldn't do it for Reyes. The Yanks have 2 better shortstops than Reyes. OF: RF: Abreu CF: Beltran LF: Melky DH: Matsui Line-up: 1 - Reyes (S) 2 - Jeter ® 3 - Abreu (L) 4 - A-Rod ® 5 - Wright ® 6 - Matsui (L) 7 - Beltran (S) 8 - Posada (S) 9 - Melky (S) Now THAT lineup would be devastating. Hell if you switch Matsui and Wright, then you could potentially switch between lefty to righty all the way through the line-up. That said they'd probably lose in 5 games, 6 games tops because of starting pitching. Also I completely agree with Gainzo about Manny being left off that team. You MUST find a spot for him. Talk about omissions, Where the F' is Magglio Ordonez? Another guy that MUST be on the team. Move Ichiro to center, and have an outfield of Manny, Ichiro, Mags. Also your choice for starting pitching is pretty disappointing. Cueto??? The kid has started 5 games and is 1-2, are you kidding? What about Halladay? Beckett? Zambrano? Verlander? Sheets? Lincecum? Hamels? Kazmir? I would take Webb, Halladay, Peavey, Beckett, and Zambrano.
Jetlag
Our pitching would be: Santana (L) Wang ® Pettite (L) Maine ® (Not a big fan, so Perez could be argued) RP - Hughes/Perez/Maine (2 out of 3 would have to be RP and might even have to come in for long relief) Sanchez Chamberlain Wagner Mo
Jetlag
A much better argument would be a NY/Boston team vs. the league, but I don't know how you'd fit Youkilis in.

drago
obviously any team with A-rod on it won't win a series of any kind...unless it's against the tigers. lol

Arsis
An all nyc/boston team would destroy any combination of team you could put out there. Johan, Beckett, Wang as your top three pitchers is golden. Wright, A-rod, Manny, ortiz and Beltran in the heart if you line-up is unbeatable. drago
Or the Brewers i'd agree with that. Buuuuut, i thought this thread was about taking three of the largest payrolls in baseball and tripeling it? Sounds fair to me!

The Troll
First of all, how the hell is Johnny Cueto, he of three good career starts, on the "Not New York" All-Star team? Second of all, the "Not New York" team would kick the YankMets asses.
