Bugg
Chacon gave them another good start, just to watch Tom Gordon pull his cap over his face and wet the bed again. The REd Sox' lead is 4 1/2 and the Yankees also trail the As for the wildcard. It's early August. ANd unless somehow this staff starts pitching a whole bunch better this is not going to end well. They also got a huge helping hand from Erice Wedge copying Torre managing by "the book" and yanking a solid and low count Milwood. If it's one thing that's killing baseball it's managers overmanaging the sheet out of the game. Both starters tonight were better options that the guys that realieved them. But "The Book" says you have to bring in your bullpen dregs to get to your closer-to hell with the fact that a pitcher is still going strong in thr 7th. We need to see the Scott Saurbecks and Tom Gordons to make it interesting. And then they wonder why there are so few complete games.
Jet/BosoxFan
Please, porn stache...I dont run and hide like the rest of you Yankee front-runners. In case they dont get todays news in Crackchester, or wherever the hell your double wide is located...let me fill you in: The Sox won today as well. Yup, no ground was gained at all. Perhaps there was some movement in the wild card standings???
Bob
The Sox won today as well. Well, of course they did. Otherwise, you'd be harder to find than Bush's WMDs. Say otherwise and you're a liar.

Right again, Bob Hey, these bottom feeders swept the $200+ million under the rug, didnt they? The Royals are the best bad team in baseball, IMO. Err wait, I take that back, the Yankees are. Err wait, I take that back, the Yankees are. Once again the your team of cowboys had to slug it out, overcoming a 9 run outburst from the Royals Nice job getting away from the facts that your pitching is horrendous.....thus will catch up to you All while we get healthy This year will be quite enjoyable watching the OYW's sizzle out down the stretch Notice you have cuddled up to Fat Wells of late....how nice
Jet/BosoxFan
uh uh, JonE... you dont get to diss the BoSox today. Not with the Garroid Sheffield controversy brewing. Interestingly, the BoSox havent lost since you bumped the "Congrats Yankee fans" (on acheiving 1st place) thread on July 25th. Thanks again. I know how great of a team they are and only allowing 9 runs to them is very impressive.
Thor99
What 2 things do the D-Rays and the Royals have in common? 1. They are the two worst teams in the AL. 2. They both swept the Yankees this year. $208 million just doesn't go as far as it used to.

I wouldnt be talking either because the Drays play you guys real hard, almost took 2 outa 3 if not for Baez blowing up.

They took 3 out of 4 from them. Twice. Was it Baez blowing up, or was it the best hitting team in the majors doing their job?

Let's see, can you remind me what happened when we last played the Red Sox? Oh yes we took 3 out of 4. Including a dominating performance by Al Leiter Not to mention we just took 2 of 3 from the Angels, including 2 incredible comebacks against quite possibly the best bullpen in the majors. GimmeShelter
Best righty bat in the game LETS CLOSE THE DEAL GUYS Arod is in the top three with Manny but number one has to go to Albert. Albert Pujols home run in the bottom of the 1st inning gave him 30 for the year. He is the only player in Major League History to hit 30+ home runs in each of his first 5 seasons. Arod is the better all around player of the three.

Sheffield almost never strikes out and I've seen Arod whiff plenty of times. Not to mention Sheffield is the most clutch righthanded bat going right now. He's hittin like .400 w/RISP this season 1. Gary Sheffield 2. Albert Pujols 3. Vladimir Guerrero 4. AROD I know the numbers will tell you otherwise, but IMO thats the best right handed bats in the game, in order. SAWX get pounded worse than BlowSawx' cornhole on a saturday night 12-0 Hey Jinxboy, they just ran off 8 wins in a row...due in large part to the fact that you bumped a thread after a Red Sox lost and insinuated they were done. Famous last words...par for the course with JEJ. Now look at ya...they lose ONE game to a good pitcher on a travel day and youre busting a nut all over your keyboard. Be careful, jinxboy, or youre gonna cause another Red Sox winning streak.

Jet/BosoxFan
Im here rain or shine...that goes for YOU jinxboy and you as well Porn Stache Bob. When were the Yanks gaining a game a day on Boston, when they were playing Oakland and Seattle back in May? In case you havent realized...this is 1965 all over again. And Porn Stache, you care to make a wager on that? The Yankees better worry about the Blue Jays gaining a game a day on them. 'Cuz even when the Yankees miraculously pull out a win...the Red Sox win and so do the A's as of late. If ever there was a year that was NOT YOURS...it is this one!
