Alk Posted August 6, 2005 Share Posted August 6, 2005 The family and I went out to see Dukes of Hazzard tonight on opening night. I'll be damned if they didn't have an actual General Lee sitting next to the ticket window. Grant got a big kick out of that, maybe almost as much as I did. The movie was pretty much what I was expecting. It wasn't nearly as offensive as all the critics said it was. The movie was pretty good and had me laughing quite a bit but I was kind of puzzled by the casting. I thought Sean William Scott and Johnny Knoxville were great as Bo and Luke. Short of that, the casting didn't seem to make much sense. Roscoe was a bigger, almost mean looking guy. Nothing like the doofy old cop that I remembered. Boss Hogg is supposed to be a fat bald headed guy. Burt Reynolds isn't fat, nor is he bald. If he was indeed fat and bald, he would have been perfect. Willie Nelson as Uncle Jessie made no sense either. Uncle Jessie wasn't a long haired pothead. This just in. Jessica Simpson can't, I repeat CAN'T act. That being said, she is ridiculously hot. He also mentioned seeing a General Lee car out in front of the theater, and vendors selling DOH merchandise. I may go see it, since I think Johnny Knoxville is great (from the jackass days) and having Jessica Simpson in skimpy outfits never hurts either. If you like all the other comedies that have been out lately, this one shouldn't disappoint. By the way, Sean William Scott is moving up the list as one of my favorite comedic actors.
