MagicBizkit87
Playoff stats? How was Beckett's playoff stats this past year?
AVM
Unless CC has to deal with some sort of injury (which is no higher a risk than Santana or any of the other top notch arms used a good amount), he will be highly effective in NY imo. With that said..... How was Beckett's playoff stats this past year? How were Arods?

CrazyCarl40
I just find it hysterical that out of all those pitchers, Josh Beckett has the worst stats, even worse then Chien-Ming Wang. Beckett also probably has the best playoff stats out of any of them. You know. When it counts.
Bergen Jet
Beckett also probably has the best playoff stats out of any of them. You know. When it counts. It only counts if you get to the playoffs and your ace starter needs to be a major reason why you get there.
CrazyCarl40
It only counts if you get to the playoffs and your ace starter needs to be a major reason why you get there. Your number one starter is very important in the regular season. The number five starter is just as important. In the playoffs, not so much. PFSIKH
How was Beckett's playoff stats this past year? Fair question. 3 starts and an 8.79 ERA. It raised his career playoff ERA to 2.90. He clearly sucks.

MagicBizkit87
that almost 9 ERA is more recent, you never know, but maybe Beckett has lost his luster, and he'll never be the playoff pitcher he once was.
Thai Jet
I see you left out the part about him still being 7-2 with a 2.90 ERA. Of course he HAS to.

I thoughgt we aren't supposed to talk about the "past" in here. Only the present. Isn't that right Red Sux fan ?

PFSIKH
I thoughgt we aren't supposed to talk about the "past" in here. Only the present. Isn't that right Red Sux fan ? I try but the rebuttle of any Yankee fan has "yeah, but we won 26 titles" or somthing to that effect. that almost 9 ERA is more recent, you never know, but maybe Beckett has lost his luster, and he'll never be the playoff pitcher he once was. Doubt it. He went on the disabled list in August. Came back 5 September and then missed the last week and half of the season. I believe he had back problems. Just to remind you he is still a post season force, he stymied (5 IP, 4 hits 2 ER) Tampa in Game 6 to force game 7. [quote name='Blackout
