MEMPHIS ACTION NEWS WMCTV reports J-Cal to Kentucky

Questions:

1) How many Memphis commits ask out of their LOI's to follow Coach Cal to UK?

2) How long before World Wide Wes makes his first appearance in Lexington?

3) How many parents of players will Calapari put on the UK payroll before the administration gets annoyed?

I think so too. DeMarcus Cousins hasn't signed a Letter of Intent yet, and is the most likely recruit to end up at UK. The other four kids will have to ask Memphis to let them out of their commitments, which (traditionally) they should.

Xavier Henry is a wildcard. A VERY highly-rated guard who chose Memphis (in part) because he wanted to play with his brother (former Yankees/Phillies prospect) C.J. Henry. Will he go too? Coach Cal would love to bring him along, but he can't bring his brother to Kentucky.

The other question is:

Does Kentucky even have enough scholarships for these kids? How many (which) recruits for UK will ask out of their commitments over this? UK's recruiting class is definitely not on the same level as the one coming in for Memphis.

The reports I've heard are this:

1) UK has offered Coach Cal the richest contract of any College BBall coach out there.

2) Cousins isn't signed to a LOI, and Calipari's people may have reached out to see if he would recommit to UK.

3) Memphis would have to release Xavier Henry from his LOI if Calipari leaves, because it had a provision that they would do so if Calipari was not the coach when he was set to enroll.

4) Memphis freshman Witherspoon would likely seek a transfer to follow his coach to UK.

It's official. Calipari agreed to go to UK.

Also:

Sources have told CBSSports.com that Tyreke Evans will enter the NBA Draft and Wesley Witherspoon will likely transfer to Kentucky. Shawn Taggart won't return to Memphis because he has already graduated. Combine that with the fact that Robert Dozier and Antonio Anderson have exhausted their eligibility, and it's possible the next Tigers coach could inherit a roster featuring only Doneal Mack (8.7 points per game), Roburt Sallie (5.8 ppg), Willie Kemp (2.9 ppg) and Pierre Henderson-Niles (2.4 ppg), meaning Memphis could go from dominating Conference USA to missing the NCAA tournament in a matter of 12 months.

Hey JetsBabe: UCF Basketball might have a chance next year!

He should legally change his name to "Rick Pitino" and be done with it.

Look forward to all the academic All Americans and Rhodes scholars Calipari will bring to Lexington.

Calipari has never won anything. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to change. Wildcat fans-recall sometime in the future that you asked for this. Be careful what you wish for.

Calipari is the poster child for almsot everything bad in NCAA. Expect the NCAA will be in Memphis by 6 PM to survey the mess he left.
