If the deal is really 4yrs 46 mil--then yeah the Jets were cheap. And lied a lot publicly, otherwise Revis taking this offer makes no sense. It also means the deals on the table were worse than this--though we were led to believe that he wanted 100+ million, and more than Aso and tons of guarantees etc. etc. Revis' granny had it right--the deals offered were never as good as Tanny would have you believe. In reference to the Revis deal specifically, I believe it will come down to Woody trying to save a few nickels by not signing a check. That's not true at all. I'm reading this as Ryan got Revis to cave and take the middle of three offers. The Jets had three offers on the table - a 10 year deal, a four year deal and a one-year stopgap deal. They obviously could not agree on guaranteed money on a 10 year deal so they met somewhere in the middle. Revis definitely wanted more. Ryan got him to take less. ALL HAIL THE FAT MAN!!!!
