RichardSeymour
Multiple regulars on the Pats board at KFFL saw this bit on NECN tonight, it's being said that Bruschi is saying this firmly. That's still leaving a possibility he won't, but it's VERY exciting that a return sounds likely. Woohoo!
Barton
Ok. We'll see about that.
gg
OY! i hope he is not doing something stupid by playing ...he has young children... for some reason a stroke...and playing a full contact sport is not something that i would think would go together. Blackout
if he plays in 2005, he will end up being the football version of Ray Chapman, minus the stroke stuff
Jetlag
Did the stroke affect his common sense? Even if he did play this year, what happens if he gets a concussion or some sort of head injury? I'll be surprised if Belichik wouldn't be wary of putting him on the field. Then again this is the same guy who stole money from a dead man. Garb
The stroke was caused by a tiny hole in his heart. The hole was repaired. They BELEIVE the stroke caused no real damage - but were talking about the brain here, so who can really know? I would retire -but I am not a passionate football player. And, speaking of stupid - So if Wayne Chrebet gets one more concussion, does that mean he will end up wearing depends and eating baby food through a straw by the age of 50? How could Hermie put HIM on the field?
PatsFanTX
Dude had a STROKE. Hang em up Tedy. Think of your family. That is just stupid. What else does he have to prove? Grab a clipboard Tedy and move on.
Jetfan13
I read on Redzone yesterday that he is going for a 3rd opinion...sounds to me like he wants to return...I don't think its smart but its his life

I still think tedy shouldnt mess with a hole in his heart.. fixed or not... i just see his two cute boys he held hands with on the field after the end of a game ... that is life...not football. Garb
TX, do you get the feeling that some Jets fans WANT something horrible to happen just so they can say "I told you so?" Or, vilify BB even more? I think I find that more offensive that Bruschi stepping out on the field again - which I prefer that he NOT do. Although he is a guy, and boy oh boy, guys can be mighty selfish sometimes. He is being selfish. We've all seen the pics of him with his boys, he has millions in the bank, and he's going to put his family at risk of having to grow up fatherless because he wants to play more football? For what? A few more million in the bank and another SB ring? Sure looks selfish to me. Or maybe it's just stupidity. I any case, I don't want anything bad to happen to him. I don't think anyone does. He should hang 'em up and count his blessings.

Hey Garb, Teddy is probably the one patsie* that I actually like..I DO NOT want him to die, I think he should take a coaching job of some sort with the patsies* and not risk further injury..you see those kids? their heads are as big as Teddys already..retire and enjoy... bitonti
Great post bit. hey since we are pulling percentages out of thin air, why stop at the likelyhood of a man who has undergone a stroke and heart surgery playing again in NFL? why not go for broke? TomShane
Garb, I think Bruschi has earned the respect of everyone in the NFL regardless of team affiliation. Jets fans appreciate him as much as Pats fans. I think we're all just shaking our heads a little bit over this. It's not like Bruschi is some 24 year old kid trying to sustain a career. I just don't see how anyone can justify putting him back on the field. If you're the Pats, you have to hide his helmet and as tough as it might be, if he wants to come back, you tell him that he'll have to do it with another team.
