Next small school gem, or a huge hoax?

Before I get into this hidden small school TE prospect, let me just say the average tight end at the most recent NFL Combine measured in at 6' 3", 260 pounds and ran a 4.88 in the 40 yard dash....The average WR at the most recent scouting Combine in Indy was about 6' 1", 200 pounds and ran a 4.58 in the 40.

Know, I present Brandon Twito, former college hoopster, who just walked onto the Pittsburgh State (best D-2 football school in America) football team in 2004 and did real well--caught 23 passes for 361 yards(15.7 ypc) and 4 TD's.

Just the start?

Twito is listed to be 6' 7", 275 pounds and the schools official site claims this athletic big fellow runs the 40 yard dash in 4.58 seconds

Considering how NFL teams signed 4 or 5 former basketball players with no college football experience last season, expect this player to be watched real close.

Of course, it could all be "misinformation".....Can a player that big, really come out of nowhere and run that run fast?

faba, Kansas is correct....Every season, they get plenty of time on ESPN in the D-2 playoffs. They also have a tackle -- Chad Weeks -- who's getting some NFL attention.

By the way, Twito's team played last week and he had 5 receptions for 76 yards and hauled in a TD

*******

Bit, we will be paying attention...count on that :P

RS, no TE type runs 4.44 40's (except Matt Jones)--those are bogus Pro Day, hand-timed times......By the way, who is the mystery Patriot who ran these numbers?

I bet it's a TE from Georgia, where Thomas Davis, for example, ran a 4.45 40 at UGA Pro Day a week after running almost 4.7 at the combine :x

....At Georgia, Ohio State and Tennessee, I think they actually run the 35 yard dash for scouts

Actually, Ohio State is a fast track, but Georgia's is a down right 'rocket powered track".

TS, with big Joe Newton of Oregon State down for the season, Leonard Pope is clearly the #1 junior--great size and speed....Super prospect.

I'll try to find Pope's 40 time, but as I stated Georgia has a weird track.

alk is definately talking about Watson - yes who was on the rocket powered track. He's a great workout warrior there's no question. He will be of great value when Belly is running the Alabama Wishbone and curled up crying in the fetal position.
