T0mShane
Steve Young thinks it's pretty close to a lock. Perfect fit. He's already worked out and had the physical.
RyanBe_Tweetin
It'd be nice to get him out of the conference. Although I believe we play the 49ers this year. I had that game as a loss anyway and we still had a good chance of making the playoffs

will
I'm not buying this. On the one hand it's a still a relatively light division and obviously a great team, both of which will be hugely attractive to Manning as he looks to burnish his legacy, but it's awful windy in SF. Dunno if it's a perfect enough situation for him.
JetsFanInDenver
Anywhere but Denver and Miami. Interestingly Alex Smith and Peyton are both represented by Tom Condon!

Yep this is the spot I always thought would be best for him. I would not be suprised if the Niners have always been quietly involved.

They either played this incredibly smart or they just woke up on Monday and said "screw it, let's sign him." It seems that his #1 criteria is going to a team with a grounded, respected owner, which is why he dumped Miami and Arizona. Is York so bad and Bowlen so great that it pushes Manning to Denver despite not being as good a team? IMO, the Niners win the next three Super Bowls if Manning stays upright.
