Sure, they're superior. But nobody is drafting halfbacks with the top pick any more. It has changed dramatically. Backs are no longer any where near the top of the salary structure of a lotf of teams. Gore and Blount's big late runs were against what amounted to "box and 1" defenses looking to shut down running plays. When you have that many decent weapons, a guy like Gore is bound to have good games. The Seahawks have become a team who really rely on Lynch to have big games. Obviously the found a weakness in the Colts run defense and took full advantage of it which is what the good teams do. Seattle running game is their bread and butter. They have been like for quite awhile now and you can do that when you have a back like Lynch. Just because it is "passing league" doesn't mean you can't win if you don't have an "elite passing game" Would it honestly surprise anyone if Seattle won the Super Bowl ? They have a really good defense, a "balanced offense" where they rely on Lynch but if when needed Wilson can go and make plays, which is what you want. But Gore has been having huge games his entire career. Long before Kap and long before Harbaugh. Way before the days of being "stacked". And the its not like the cupboard is dry in Seattle. Further the Broncos clinched the game by completing a 3rd and 17 pass late in the game. I guess all should've run the ball in each situation?
