TuscanyTile2
Matt Simms will be denied. The moment it seemed like he might actually have a shot at some playing time, (if Vick gets hurt again), Rex and co. named Geno the #2. I'm glad they squeezed all the fun out of this week. Although, I have to admit it would be fun watching the fans' reaction if Geno gets in there and has another 3 Int quarter. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/11837418/geno-smith-new-york-jets-returns-injury-assumes-backup-qb-role

I hope Vick gets knocked out and they trot Geno out there. It'll be laughable. What are they thinking?
Obrien2Toon
Remember when everyone wanted Ratliff to start? Must be great to be a horrible backup qb and people think you're going to be the savior.

jgb
All about Rex survival. If Simms gets in and starts playing well what will that say about the guy who chose to keep Simms inactive while Geno was performing at least-worst levels? Not to mention there would go the "saddled by garbage QB play" excuse. FWIW I don't think Simms is any good but no upside to Rex so we will never find out. WickedAwesome
With the way the Jets organization keeps treating quarterbacks, doubling down on failure, and having some ridiculous, arbitrary hierarchy that isn't ever influenced by on-the-field production, the Jets are very possibly setting themselves up to have college QB's simply say "I won't enter the draft if the Jets look like they're going to get me," pulling an Elway or an Eli. Just horrible message being sent to QB prospects who should rightly fear the Jets as the kiss of death for their career. Major house cleaning is in order. Major. Take your fandom and team loyalty out of the equation and ask yourself, if you were a QB, would you want any part of this organization as it currently exists? BRONX DUDE
1-15 is the way to go Jets fans. I wonder what is going to happen during the bye week. I hope the Jets players get a deserved rest.
RSJ
Next year Geno should get a fair and real chance to get coached and compete. But I dont see the benefit to him by putting him out there again this year.
jgb
Geno Smith needs more time to be fully evaluated Vick isn't the answer and neither is Simms. With more evaluation we can decide if he is just merely horrible or all-time-worst level of suck
