flgreen
Upset special: The New York Jets will beat the Minnesota Vikings December 5, 2014 5:41 AM MST On Sunday the New York Jets (2-10) take on the Minnesota Vikings (5-7) at TCF Bank Stadium (1 p.m. EST). The Jets, losers of their last two games, enter this match-up as an organization in disarray while the Vikings are a young team on the rise led by rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Here are some of the keys to the game from the New York perspective. Offense Run the ball- Believe it or not the New York Jets could implement their run heavy offense again this week as the Vikings rush defense is ranked 24th in the NFL giving up almost 124 yards a game. Look for another heavy dose of running backs Chris Ivory and Chris Johnson with Percy Harvin sprinkled in. Pass blocking- The Minnesota defense will most likely stack the line of scrimmage in order to put pressure on the Jets to pass the ball. The offensive line must do a better job in pass protection, as last week was an awful performance in terms of blitz pickup. Keep an eye on Vikings’defenders Everson Griffen (11 sacks), Sharrif Floyd (4.5 sacks), Tom Johnson (5.5 sacks), and Anthony Barr (4 sacks) . Get Geno going- Following a game where Geno Smith only threw the football 13 times, the Jets must do a better job of getting the second year quarterback comfortable within the game plan. Whether it is the short to intermediate passing game, or the play action pass, the young signal caller has to develop early chemistry with his wide receivers. Defense Run defense- As expected the Minnesota Vikings are protecting their young quarterback with a powerful running game, one that is ranked 13th in the NFL. Look for the Jets 3rd ranked run defense to shut down the ground game making the Minnesota offense one-dimensional. Pass coverage- The Vikings have some weapons in the passing game including veteran pass catcher Greg Jennings along with wide receivers Charles Johnson and Cordarrelle Patterson. The Jets secondary must remain consistent in coverage and also account for tight end Kyle Rudolph. Prediction On paper this has the potential to be a close game, one that the Jets should win. Rex Ryan normally does an excellent job against rookie quarterbacks and the offense should be able to run the ball down the Vikings throats. The unknown factor is the Jets mindset coming off of a debilitating loss. Is this the game where Gang Green starts to fall off in terms of effort? Lets not forget that meaningless games in December are usually when players start to mail it in. With blind faith: Jets 21-

southparkcpa
This is a LOSE LOSE situation. We win?? We lose a better pick. We lose, well, thats right, we lose. I agree with Santonio Holmes. I DONT CARE. This season has beaten the pi$$ out of my motivation. Yet...Shotty puts up 52 points with a back up QB. 3rd stringer no less. Rex supporters are clearly delusional. shuler82
Unfortunately I don't see how we lose this game. Minnys wrs scare no one, the jets will stop the run, and you figure even with a few geno ints and a blocked punt or two, the offense will still put up about
