Well it looks like Connor Hughes isn’t as plugged into the Hets as he would make it seem.
To me JD plays all the beat writers. He may just drop hints at what he wants to get out and writers will take it run with it print and take it as Gospel truth.
JD knows what the hell he’s doing   Now if he can that idiot owner to shut the hell up and stop him from dropping hints on who the Jets  are going to draft start casting the mold of him for the statue now

Still can’t get over how stupid Woody was saying that on Tik Tok what a fuching moron and I generally support him

He is extremely plugged into the Jets. They just misdirected him on the draft.

For free agents and contracts he's batting close to 100%.

This statue talk is f*cking embarrassing.

Right ... so not plugged in .. got it.

They tell him whatever they deem ready for public consumption = not plugged in.

He is a tool to them.

Agreed. They played him. Lets stop acting like he is in on meetings. JD seems to know how to use the media as a tool. He understands the game. I dig it.

Connor Hughes has categorically said Douglas wanted to extend Adams.

Whether he'd given him the contract or not idk.

Extending him at a reasonable price?  Sure.  But extending him to make him one of the top defenders in the league (not just safety), as he was demanding?  No f'ing way.

Plus, you know as well as the rest of us, that Connor Hughes is now JDs mouth piece (like Manish was for Mac), and will tweet, print, write, say just about anything that JD wants him to say, including any misinformation (as he did this spring leading to the draft).  So, undoubtedly, there was a strategic reason for JD telling Hughes to report that.

When are people going to start to understand that Connor Hughes can no longer be trusted as an independent, uninfluenced reporter?  Basically, Jets fans should treat Hughes as if he was the NY Jets' press agent.

Sad to see a reporter sell out, but Hughes is a loser now.

He’s probably a good source most of the year. By getting a lot of things right, he’s more believable when the Jets are using him choose to use him for misinformation. So the Jets will continue to give him the honest nuggets that they don’t mind getting out there. It was pretty hilarious the way a couple people here took his word as gospel this draft season, though. But Connor Hughes is absolutely certain… Oh, it was great, lol.
