As someone noted, NFL defenses, generally, are not designed to stop that as much as they are the passing attack (smaller, faster LB's and cover CB's who can't tackle). The goal of our running attack is to get our play-makers with the ball in their hands beyond those big DT's and Edges in open field, however we can. Play action, screen game, and a power FB, or even a two-HB/split-back formation are all ways a team can do that. I have a feeling we're going to see Rodgers throwing a lot of short/quick passes and flats passes this season. I dont need a FB just an end to the "zone blocking" scheme that is a scourge to the NFL

Breece Hall isn’t going to break many tackles , but you have beast blocking fb clearing the way for him look out. He’s capable of breaking big runs everytime and only going to thrive with a fb like him. Last time jets had legitimate team they had top notch fb Tony Richardson . Josh Jacobs had his big season getting 340 carries.

Thats hardly huge ... he sustained a freak injury sh*t happens. Don't lose sight of the fact he also took a pay cut he did not have to take. The guy is in great shape and wants to play as long as he enjoys the game along with being a HOF player and has an elite football mind to go along with it. Yet this forum still finds reason to complain. Lets see what he does on the field this year then pass judgement. Moved down in the 1st round thus missing out on the last high end offensive tackle in that draft. Thus we drafted a 25 year old developmental pass rusher who gets 20% of the snaps. Gave up a 2nd rounder that year, gave up a 2nd rounder this past year. Draft value chart for all of that? Probably close to a top 10 1st round pick. All for a guy the packers could not wait to get rid of who had zero other teams bidding for his services. Douglas got fleeced like a sheep becasue he and the jets and Rodgers did literally every thing wrong in that negotiation. The Packers got rid of a problem player they were stuck with, got nice draft resources, got huge cap relief, got rid of a host of terrible players the jets picked up. Joe Douglas should have been gm of the year.....for the Packers.

You can just flip it out to a generic slot and get seven yards instead, and it keeps the ILB out of the middle of the field, so your Breece Hall back has one less dude to evade so that's who's missing! The fact is the Raiders never gave him first, Or second team reps all preseason( was third string) . When the coaching switch was made like 6 week in , Antonio Pierce made him the starter .( clearly was the best) Antonio Pierce fired the offensive coordinator the day he was hired ( Lombardi - fake one Josh McDaniel was the real of) and hired an offensive coordinator who never called plays in his life. You had rookie qb and a rookie oc drawing plays up . What veteran qb can totally change the playbook , throw to receivers he hasn’t thrown to , and thrive. He played very well . Let’s see how the kid looks with a whole offseason to know the playbook . He has top five offense weapons in the whole league . Going to be tough for any defense to stop this offense . 1a D Adams and 1b J Meyers as the starting Wrs Brock bowers anywhere slot / wr/ Te ,Fb , Te Michael Mayer , Rb Zeus Wr Tre Tucker the burner can even line up at RB. ( ask Derwin James who try to cover him and was abused - . Tre Tucker is the most important player because he has rare speed that every defense has to respect his speed . ( opens up the whole field for the others to really thrive. They have so many weapons M Gallup ( might not make it) Jalen guyton ( another big burner) , Te / fb Harrison Bryant ( can play three tes ) . Whatever defense you put out there they have an answer for it. Keep sleeping on the Raiders as they will be playoff team. They are loaded on every level( defense, special teams, and offense)
