Reddick Killed Deal that Joe Douglas and Reps had in Place

That’s clearly not the point. The point is he had no agreement with the player when he finalized with the team.

He had an agreement with the player’s representative. Should GMs check with players to confirm they are being represented appropriately before making a trade?

I think most people who want to see JD get fired feel the way because his Win/Loss record is abysmal, not because of Reddick.

His job is to create a roster. IMO the change over from what he accumulated when he started is vastly better now. We have talent everywhere. It’s on the staff and players to execute.

All he asked was for Reddick to show up... That doesn't disagree with this report in any way

We can meet you and give you an escort into the bldg

you will love it here and we will accomplish great things

why say this if you already offered to pay off the fines etc and make him whole and he said no

guess I am missing it

Putting aside his 6 year record of ineptitude, before the season started, I said a lot of people were getting pumped up way too much about this roster.

I said that because I felt Rodgers is old and coming off a major injury. The new LT is old and fragile, the RG is a jag, the LT is coming off two years on IR, and the C is probably better as a G. Throwing together a bunch of old and/or often injured players isn’t how a OL guru should build a line. The new WR2 is coming off a major injury. We lost our to ER and JFM without replacing either one, and we had a terrible CS.

Not only does it look like I was correct on all counts so far, but I could also be correct about the thing I was most ridiculed about… placing the Under 9.5 wins bet I did during the summer.
I was told that even with average QB play this was at worst a 10 win team. We shall see.

It’s almost like after 55+ years of following this team, I know what to expect.

As I stated he can just build the roster. Injuries aren’t a Game fault. In fact he made pretty much every player you said who has injury history’s contracts incentive heavy. Which is smart.

But to play along with you let’s look at each position group.

QB: we have a HOF QB that’s only getting paid 17mill this season. And arguably one of the better backup QBs as well. On top of that we drafted a guy that would’ve been a heisman finalist at QB to sit and develop like we should.

RB: we have a great RB room with Breece who I have no question will get going. And landed a steal with Allen in the mid rounds. And Davis has skill as a 3rd guy. The whole RB room is under 24.

WR: have a great WR in GW. Best WR we’ve had since an older Marshall. A guy that should only get better and better in MW. Personally I think he’s just not being used enough right now. Lazard who has been a lot better than most of us thought. And a couple young guys in Corley and Gipson. Hopefully a change at OC helps Corley get on the field.

TE: this group is a group I hoped he’d help more. I was team bowers in the draft. Wasn’t happy he didn’t go in that direction. But so be it. Conklin IMO is average. Ruckert hasn’t done much. IMO one of the most overrated jets just bc he’s a local kid. Hopefully we like him up more at FB and use him more in the passing game. And Brown needs to be cut.

OL: he’s rebuilt this group. Easy for some to forget that we had a top 5 OL weeks 1-3. Yes they’ve been trash the last 2 weeks. But IMO it can be fixed. It’s not a talent issue. Moses is back tomorrow and when he was in is when we had a top 5 group. Smith when on his game is still a top 10 LT. Simpson was great those 1st few weeks as well as the rest of the IOL that’s young and talented. And we have a few guys with talent that are grooming behind our older OTs in Olu and Warren.

DE: McDonald has been great. JJ unfortunately got injured. We now know Reddick has been at fault in this contract saga. Clemons has been solid as well.

DT: Q has been poor. But we know the talent is there. Kinlaw was a nice pickup. Taylor was a steal as an UDFA. We get Leki back tomorrow who I like a lot to stuff the run.

LB: we have the best LB room in the NFL. Sherwood and Q have been all pro level. Mosley is still a talented LB as well as Surratt and Barnes who would start on A LOT of teams.

CB: Reed has been incredible and we know Sauce will find his game. I feel like he started slow last year as well and then teams couldn’t throw on him. Carter is a great nickel he’s been battling injury all season though. And I love the depth of Echols and Stiggers.

S: another group that is solid but not overwhelming. But S after all isn’t a position that’s premium. Adams is a steal as an UDFA. Clark has been solid now that he’s healthy. And there’s good depth there as well with Davis, Oliver and JBC.

ST: 2 solid vets in Thomas and Greg.

We have a top talented roster. It’s the execution and staff that’s been at fault. I know the changes didn’t seem to come from him and that it came from woody. But there’s been a change and that’s what we needed. Bc there’s no excuse for the coaching and play for in essence “no reason” to fall off like it did from the NE game to the last 2 games.

I mean you guys know why he was available for trade, right ?

where is the precedent for finalizing a trade with another team but only having a verbal agreement to negotiate the extension months later with the player?

a star player producing at elite levels over multiple years?

I can’t think of one.

Reddick wanted 3/25.

If you aren’t paying that you don’t trade for him and try to squeeze his nuts in a vice

The agent agreed to the 1 year raise because it meant a commission, not that it was what the client wanted

Jamal

Adams

to name one very obvious example

Why does this read like it’s @Raideraholic talking about the Raiders?

Raiders are good of talent. We aren’t. GMs job is to get the talent. It’s the players job to play hard. And the coaches jobs to get the most out of every player.

My point being that JD built a nice roster. Now it’s in Brick and the players to do their jobs.
