When will Chad go Down?

Any player can get hurt on any play.

Here are some posts for you to start for the next ten days.

"When will Brady go down?"

"When will Manning go down?"

"When will Trent Green go down?" (oops)

Players get hurt, good teams have depth at all positions and can fill holes. Last year we lost 3 QBs, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 1 C and that is why, for the most part, we stunk.

Why the hell do you think he is more prone to injury against one team (Jags) and not some other team?

Any player can get hurt anytime against any team.

This is a stupid thread.

Don't make me agree with you. You know an baby gets its eyes poked out every time that happens.

PRJF, it might be in your mind and thats fine. To say that it's in all of our minds is silly. I can only speak for myself when I say that after I saw Chad get slammed to the turf several times and get up without incident I was convinced that he's 100%. Can we just say that maybe it's a possibility that his injuries have more to do with the way he fell as opposed to the injuries being because of him.

This does not mean Chad is any different than every player in the league. Every single one of them can be one play away from a career ending injury. With the shots Chad has taken thus far, and the arm strength he has shown, there's no reason to expect less from him than anybody else.

Hell, I work in a clinic where our orthopedic specialist told me the Jets were crazy to think Chad could come back and that they were "trying to make chicken soup out of chicken ****" but it looks like Chad has proven many of us wrong so far. Why sit around and wait for him to get hurt instead of just watching the games and cheering for the guy?

1-15 Jets, I was stationed in Korea 1996, wearing a Jets coat, everyone making fun of me.. so I know what it is to suffer as a fan, but, common, you are in denial. You know that everyday, that thought is in your mind.

you have no idea what its like being a Jets fan if you believe what you are saying...I NEVER think about my QB getting injured, I NEVER know its gonna happen and I am NEVER in denial when it comes to the Jets. I have been a Jet fan longer then you have been alive, don't lecture me on what you KNOW is gonna happen. He looks pretty solid to me and I am planning on him playing ALL year and taking the Jets to the promised land (someday).

if we decide to play houston and blaylock, like a majority here wants, you are taking a greater risk of injuring Chad. I know that Mangini is doing his best to protect the QB, obviously, the offseason speaks for itself. And also, we hope that the rest of the OL gets healthy and adds even more protection. The young OL is doing a great job, but, i think is a Karma.

And, we should think the worst, its call short-term planning!!!!

I believe in looking reality straight in the eye and denying it”.

Injuries are part of the violent game called the NFL.

As fans, there is no way you can go into any game "thinking" this player or that player, "may" get hurt.

Think Bengals fans were thinking Palmer was going to get hurt against the Steelers in the playoffs last year? Nope.

Think Seahawks fans were thinking Alexander was going to break his foot? (And BTW, he has never missed one start in his entire NFL career). Nope.

Crap like injuries happen. You deal with it when it "actually" happens, not try to predict when a player will get hurt.

Again, this is a stupid thread.

Karma in this case is looking for the worst scenario and getting it. The fact is we traded for Ramsey who is a quality NFL Backup. We have two young potential NFL future starters on our roster in Clemens and Smith. They drafted two OL with the first two picks and traded and brought in FA's for the OL.

This team prepared for all the possible scenarios including restructuring Pennington's contract so that if he does go down it will not kill the cap.

Career ending injury could happen to any player on any NFL team at any time. The Jets have prepared for a career ending injury to their starting QB better than any fan could have hoped for.

We are lucky that Chad is Chad, and of course, the team will draft the best available player. At this point, who will play QB if Chad goes down? Is it the system or the QB? Smarts or strenght ? Coaching or skills? Is Mangini real?

see where Im going with this????

LOL. Except if you are talking about Pennington of course.

And I express what you and me feel... so why deny it? And by the way, Tom Brady is gay.

you don't speak for me or anyone else here. I have no thoughts of Pennington getting injured. He could get hurt in a car wreck as easily as on the field, and that goes for all players.

If Manning goes down on Sunday what do you think the chances are that the Colts are making the playoffs? I lived through the Namath era. We patched him up enough to get us a SB through the 68 season. The Giants get a couple of monster years out of Simms. Who knows how Palmer holds up and if the Bengals ever win one.

If Chad goes down, my guess is Ramsey takes over and we change things up for him. We will suffer, we might even end up looking at Clemens or Smith at some point. There are very few NFL teams that don't imediately fall out of playoff contention if their starting QB gets knocked out for the season, early in the season.

The premise of your post is we are not prepared for it, we are better prepared than most teams, the premise of your thread is simply wrong.

As a fan, I think about the worst scenarios, and much depth is in the team to carry out the season. As a fan, I believe you should think short term and long term planning. The so called: "what if's". So, as a concerned fan, why not think like a staffer, is all about the game, isn’t it?

Take a look around the NFL. The QB play in general is at best atrocious. There are about 4 legit high quality playmaking QB's in the league. The drop off after 10 is like a free fall into death valley from 10,000 feet. WTF do you want? The Jets are lucky to have 1 quality QB and 1 former starter as a backup.

I apologize, but this thread requires the ancient Indian hex removal spell. Please stare at the following picture and repeat the mantra "Chad will remain healthy" three times straight.

Thank you for your time, you can now go back to your regularly scheduled progamming...

We all waiting for that moment, and I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but, everyone here has a feeling that he will go down this year. Hopefully, before that happens, our back-ups will be somewhat prepared. Let's pray that it never happens!

STFU!!!!!

You have to be a Miami fan.
