I wouldnt be talking about the Mets' weaknesses in the pitching staff, Yankee fan. We were well aware of the Mets question marks headed into the season. Yankee fans seem to be "taken by surprise" that a rotation with a 41-year old ace, a couple hacks, and a guy who cant stay healthy wouldnt perform up to par. Stop bitching and acting like your APRIL Mets are tough sh*t. 26-2.

Heck, I never said the Mets would finish higher than 3rd. You were practically guarenteeing a Yankee WS, like every year.

The Gun Of Bavaria
The Tigers are stuck with Jason "Someone dial up my insulin pump" Johnson and Uggie "Damn I gave up another 8th inning jack" Urbina, u all need to quit crying.
Jetheelz
Not a good game today. However Mets are sitting at .500, which is not too terrible. It's April, no need to get too upset or cocky just yet.
Jetsfan80
like every year? how long have you been around now? I was making an assumption. You see, 124 is the type of Yankee fan who thinks as if the Yankees have won it all every year of his life, so of course, he goes in to every season assuming the Yankees will win it all. But alas, he will once again be disappointed.

TheBrodyMan
Tough game for Glavine. Wasnt terrible being he only gave up four runs, but thats not good stuff for your #2 starter. If Ishii and Heilman continue to pitch well, the Mets can live with Glavines inconsistency. However, if both those guys pitch average and Zambrano continues to walk everyone and their mother, then Glavine becomes a much bigger problem for them with the money he makes. Latinlawyer
Glavine's contract is too big to see him pitch like he did yesterday. He has not been able to adjust to the Questteq system that has been implemented. He is not getting the corners like he used to. Sadly, who would trade for Glavine today? Man, if the team has to absorb half his salary to move him, so be it....he is like an albatross around the new mets necks... LL

Jetsfan80
he is like an albatross around the new mets necks... Good use of metaphor! The only reason Glavine and so many other elderly pitchers remain in the league with big contracts is because he is a lefty. You need at least one in your rotation. Sure, we have Ishii, but if Trachsel doesn't get hurt, Ishii isn't even here.

faba
Glavine's margin of error is just so small- he needs to have his location perfect and to change speeds. If Heilman can finally show something in the majors this time and be consistent that would be huge for us.

If Heilmann finally holds form as a #1 round draft pick, that would allow us to seek deals for Glavine. Let's be honest...Glavine has underperformed for the majority of the time we have had him pitching. He looks nothing like the old glavine. If we want to contend we need to find a taker for Glavine and hope that Heilmann holds up... LL

TomShane
Boston or Baltimore would take Glavine in a second. Granted, we won't get a hell of alot back for him, but I think just getting Glavine away from the Mets--where I think he might be cancerous--is a good thing.
