GimmeShelter
Red Sox would be nuts not to use Ellsbury if that's what it would take to get Santana. If any team should know over the years that hitting doesn't win the WS it's the Sox...and if they do obtain Santana, they could conceivably be the favorite to win it all for the next several years. With Beck and Santana (and a righty/lefty combo to boot) starting for you, I can't think of a better 1,2 punch than that. Boston likely has to be the fave to win the WS today without any moves. The Yanks need Santana more than the RSox. The Mets need him more than both.

The Mets need him more than both. As a Yankees fan I agree with you, all I'm saying if the Sox really want to lock up the WS for the next several years, this can almost put them over the top. GimmeShelter
Some Buster Olney and Stick Michael updates on both Yanks/Sox front: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3133598

Barton
Lester and Crisp for Santana? LOL that is a garbage package. Yanks could easily top that w/o giving up Hughes, Joba or Cano.
SenorGato
I don't think either team gets him...or even desperately wants him. If one team wants him more than the other, it's the Yankees.
