Lil Bit Special
This team is a flawed team. Every team in baseball is a flawed team. Obviously the Mets biggest flaw this year was the the worse bullpen in the league. Its not easy to solve bullpen issues. YOu never know with relievers on a year to year basis. Everyone is looking for relieve help. However to say that this team is garbage is silly. Beltran as much as he gets killed is probably the best overall Center Fielder in the League. Reyes and Wright are right up there with anyone in their respective positions. I would say top 3 or 4. Delgado will be back, will he put up numbers like he did this year. Maybe, maybe not, but I don't expect a huge drop off. Why would Dan Murphy not make the team out of camp. That doesn't make any sense. This kid can hit. He can hit with 2 strikes and big situations don't phase him. I think the Mets are trying to make him into a second basemen. Time will tell. If you are really so down on this team, there's only one easy solution. Just don't watch the games. I dont watch the games, I listen to them. We have supposedly been the most talented team in the NL for 3 years now, and what have we got? 06- lost to Cards in NLCS- a team that was easily beatable 07- one of the biggest chokes in baseball history 08- mediocrity, and most likely missing the playoffs again, So how can you go and say this team is good? We are filled with a bunch of losers. Lucky for you most of this roster is still under contract for 2009 so we can once again watch this pathetic team suck all season. They have proven for 3 freaking years they cant get it done, but hey... lets try again in '09!!!!! F#ck that. They suck. Thats why Im down on them. This great talented roster has gotten us what in 3 years? Jack Sh!t. I'm a realist who sees the core of this team, although talented, cant get the job done. I will never be a kool-aid drinking fan who only wants to see the potential good. If thats the way you want to be, fine. And even though Murphy has hit well, I seriously doubt he will be a starter next year. He sucks in the outfield, and there is no starting position in the infield. The Mets will not have him on the roster to sit on the bench. He will start the year in Buffalo (AAA) unless they can get rid of Castillo which I just dont see Minaya doing. Lil Bit Special
Are you suggesting that Minaya should trade or cut Beltran, Reyes, Wright and Delgado? Delgado yes. If we bring him back he will be the Delgado of 07 and half of 08. Something just doesnt seem right about his turnaround in the 2nd half this year..... The other 3, obviously no. But they are losers. They will never lead this team anywhere. They are the A-Rod's of the Mets. Nice stats, no rings.
Lil Bit Special
No way Delgado and Santana are the only players on your team I'd like on the Yanks You can have Delgado.

Lil Bit Special
I would puke if that turd put on Yankee pinstripes. I would feel bad for the Yankees if they blew 10 mil a year on him..... but outside of Teixeira, what good FA 1B's will there be..... Thats what sucks, the FA class this year all around is very lean. I say this team, is good because bad teams play under .500 ball. Baltimore is a bad team. the Nats are a bad team. The Mets are a flawed team. The is one game left, and the playoffs are still very much a possibility. As a Met fan which I think you are, why not root for the team, and take it from there. It seems to me, you want to see them fail to prove your point. I'm not drinking anything right now. I'm just behind this team, rooting for them to get it done. I've been rooting for this team for the last 20+ years. Things can be a lot worst. How many teams would love to be in the spot the Mets are in right now. I understand they need to make some changes, but blowing up the core is not the solution. Let me ask you, what would you do? You wanna blow it up and start again? I dont want to see them fail, and have rooted for them every day of the season. I am pissed off and frustrated with this team. I see them for what they are. And if we do happen to make the playoffs we are destined for another season or two of mediocre baseball. If I were GM I would blow up this team. But the realities of contracts and the availability of good players is limited. We are stuck with this cast of losers. They make money for the owners which is all that matters. Better to c0ck tease the fans than just plain suck.

THIS year is much more in line with his normal year than 2007 was. Even if he falls off some next season he has earned being brought back. As for the blow up the team nonsense, please show your off season correction plan. This team lost it's corner outfielders, 2/5 of it's starting rotation, 2nd baseman and closer for huge chunks of the season and still has played well enough to be in the play-off hunt. Not a excuse as injuries are part of the game. I just do not get the blowing up the team nonsense.
GimmeShelter
And I disagree with you. Sanchez was an unknown due to injury. Wagner was getting old and Heilman shouldnt have blown up. I only had confidence in one guy in the bullpen. To have confidence in Wagner and Sanchez was dumb and a major mistake by Minaya. Beltran has proven year after year he is not a big time player. He comes through in the clutch every once in a while. Delgado sucked for a long portion of the season... will he really be good next year? Doubt it. Church is useless. He's been hurt all year and has never been a good player. Wright and Reyes are overrated in their skills and talents. Murphy is still an unknown and most likely wont make the team out of camp next year. We have good players, but nobody who is a leader who can take this team on their shoulder and show them how to be winners. Yes we have a decent lineup, but one who has been mediocre this year, choked last year, and blew it in 2006. How long do we need to put up with players who cant win the big one? This team sucks and will continue to suck if we keep this core together. They are losers. *** and resigning Perez would be a MAJOR mistake. *** You know what, you may be a dedicated fan but you are lost on this one and in my opinion just looking for a safety net in case we should lose and some attention. The above is one of the most off the mark posts I have ever read. If you don't think guys like Delgado and Johan haven't shown this team what being a leader is you need to buy the MLB package so you can watch the games. BTW... name me 5 bigger time CF's you'd prefer over Beltran. You may wanna look up his post season resume as well.

I think next year's rotation will be Santana, Maine, Pelphrey, Niese and Parnell. I don't think they're going to give Ollie 13-15 million a year, and I think anyone who does is nuts. I keep Brian Stokes as your long man/spot starter and maybe Feliciano as the left handed specialist. I'll keep Joe Simth too. The rest of them can go s*ck canal water. Sanchez has no velocity, Heilman is Heilman and Schoenweis just plain bl*ws. I wonder if the Wilpons are ruing giving Omar that 4-year contract now. He better keep Manuel, I don't see how anyone could have done better with that crew of arsonists out there.

He was better than I expected. I dont need attention, Im just tired of these players sucking when it matter most. And all I need to know about beltran in post season is 9th inning, game 7 NLCS. You're happy with this team? Fine... I hope you enjoy next year when we miss the playoffs again. We have 4 supposedly great hitters in this lineup yet we score 5 runs in the 3 most important games of the season. Im sorry. This team has played well below their talent level for 3 years now. That just isnt good enough for me.
