R44
Great job, Hammer.....2 quick points: If I was a Tennessee fan and the team selected Young, a long term project with an unorthodox throwing motion and questionable accuracy with the 5th pick, I think I'd feel like this Ahmad Brooks, I wouldn't touch with a 100 foot pole right now. Here's what I wrote about him at DD.com: Virginia linebacker Ahmad Brooks, a junior who sat out 5 games this season with a rash of injuries, could become a real problem in the eyes of NFL scouts if decides to forego his final season of eligibility and enters the NFL draft, as some in the media have speculated. On one hand, the uniquely nimble 260 pound linebacker has the look of an impact player when healthy. However, the aforementioned injuries have to be a huge concern for NFL teams -- how does a team invest a high draft pick on him and hand him millions of dollars in bonus money with his recent injury history? Brooks sat out the entire spring and the first month of the season with a degenerative knee condition -- which may or may not ever get much better. And, to make matters worse, he also sat out games due to back and ankle issues. According to some insider sources, it would seem Brooks best bet would be to return to Virginia and re-establish himself as a top prospect next season. But from Brooks' vantage point, what happens if he returns to Virginia and is affected by injuries next season (particularly the knee) too?....... Does his stock drop even more, with his stellar 2004 season an even more distant memory? What I didn't mention publicly on the site, is insiders are reporting Al Groh is so sick of the injuries and the distractions caused by it, he just wants him to leave. *********** Bugg, you've got the wrong OSU linebacker that will catch Vince McMahons eye -- suposedly all the OSU linebackers love wrestling Check out this bio, of this expected future star: http://ohiostatebuckeyes.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/laurinaitis_james00.html His story: http://www.vindy.com/content/sports/local_regional/372024540663919.php http://www.jacksfootball.com/coach-laurinaitis.html

Wasn't it you that was sucking Eli's dick so fast you made his head spin? Last I checked, Ole Miss was not a Big Ten school. On to the topic at hand, I really love that mock draft. While I've long said I'd prefer Ferguson over Bush, getting Jay Cutler in the second round would be amazing. And for the Jets in the short term, the Titans going with Vince Young is certainly interesting. I forsee Billy Volek in our future if that happens. Barton
Nice work, ham. I'd sign for that right now, but I really think the Jets HAVE TO draft the highest rated Otackle on the board in rd 2 over Gabe Watson. I hope the Jets sign their Gabe Watson in free agency - Grady Jackson. So we fill that hole pre-draft. I havent watched a Vandy game, but I've seen highlights, and all I can say about Cutler is, he has a brett favre type arm. Ham, I know you're high on Brian Leonard, so high on him you want to draft him in the 3rd rd. Now I did catch the lousiville/rutgers game, and Leonard is a great athlete. Him and Reggie Bush would be the most versatile, athletic FB/RB combo in the NFL. Both can split out at WR at any time, and catch a pass and take it to the house. The matchup problems these guys could create together in the NFL......its a scary thought. But how is Leonards blocking? He's not very big, but is he a smart lead blocker? faba
Ham Good job Interesting selection of Young for the Titans- you think Volek is not the answer there for them- especially since they gave him a new contact if I am not mistaken Reggie Bush and Cutler would be the perfect setup for the Jets if it came about

Barton
Ham, if we get Reggie Bush, he shouldnt even sniff the ball on kickoff and punt returns. Just our luck, he'd probably blow out a knee returning a kick. I know he's a great special teamer, but Justin Miller is a good KORer, and the risk for injury of our future star at RB is too great, imho. That is, indeed, Animal's kid. Animal, of course, is of the Legion of Doom/Road Warriors fame. Just a shame his kid wasn't smart enough to get into a real school. So, he had to settle for OSU. As for the mock... I can't help but approve. I mean, Reggie is one dynamic player. I'm not really high on SEC players, as in at all. But, that comes from my northern bias, as Troll has his southern bias  And EB, I was about to question your reading comprehension! Yes, Ham had the Texans and Jets flop picks in the second. I'm not quite up to speed on who's draft eligible or hot prospects or anything (damn work and working during football season), so I really can't say anything about Cutler, cept taht he's from Vandy and Vandy has always blown. DeathMetalJetsFan
Great mock. I'm concerned that we have no choice but to address this draft heavily toward the offense. The whole reason we got this way is b/c the last 3 years or so, we've invested heavily into the defense. It seems like a vicious circle.
Maxman
Great mock. I'm concerned that we have no choice but to address this draft heavily toward the offense. Which wouldn't be a problem if the Defense was actually playing good this year. I am just hoping they are impacted by how bad the offense is. Knowing the team can't score has to change the way they play the game. Unfortunately because last year this defense was solid.

I've posted on a different site a few reasons why I think this defense is struggling so much...at this point...it's the only reasoning i can put behind things. 1. Lack of confidence which leads to lack of aggression 2. Extremely young secondary 3. Lack of a true NT to collapse the pocket 4. We really miss Eric Barton who was of our emotional leaders, enforcers and playmakers.
