JON GRUDEN IS READY TO RETURN TO COACHING

Written by Ken Fang on 28 October 2013.

Jon Gruden has made it known that he wants to return to coaching. And while he has signed a contract extension with ESPN to emain at Monday Night Football, he has been the subject of numerous rumors on both the college and pro level. Some skeptics feel Gruden used the offers to squeeze more money from ESPN and that may be the case.

But we get the best evidence from Gruden himself that he would like one more shot at coaching. During a speaking engagement in Ocala, FL, Gruden told an enthralled audience, "I haven't lost a game in three and a half years. But no, I wouild like to give coaching one more try."

Does that mean Gruden is going to leave Monday Night Football after this season? No, but one would think that he's entertaining offers and is looking for the best one to take.

During his appearance, Gruden joked about forming "The Fired Football Coaches Association" and asked former Illinois coach Ron Zook to join him. By the way, Gruden's speaking engagement was at a bank where Zook works.

While he searches for the perfect coaching position, we'll still have the "Gruden Grinder" on Monday Night Football for at least this season.
