I guess that was a joint decision? Adam Gase had mentioned he would discuss preseason play with Bell and together they would make a decision. So long as there are no hiccups in his performance come the regular season, I'm fine with it. Sometimes you need to treat your most adult players as adults. I think Bell is adult enough to know what he has to do to be ready for the regular season.

This should also be a great opportunity for others trying to make the roster to cement their case.

This isn't  ideal. Bell needs to get use to the OL play and they need to get use to him. You can't  simulate  real game conditions in practice.

I agree but I disagree. He sat out last year hasn’t played in a game since 2017. Overall: probably a great decision.
