Tough for a college guy to cut his teeth with a guy who just got the previous HC fired. You would be coming into a no win situation. With the Jets, you are coming in with a new QB, or at worst, Sam, who has only played about two seasons and is basically a rookie with the lousy coaching he’s gotten. The big question is the ability of putting together a good staff, especially the guys who will develop the QB. It’s obvious he has a great staff at NW, and that they are able to really “coach up” their kids. Probably have a roster of 2-3 star recruits, at best. He also refused to interview with the Bears and Panthers.
riggy001
It is going to be very difficult for the jets to bring in a top candidate. Likely to be 6-7 openings by seasons end. The falcons and texans are better jobs, as will Be the Chargers, if it comes open.

Herbert looks good, and if he keeps progressing it would be tough to replace the coach and staff.

Matt Ryan has cap hits of $40 million in 2021 and $41 million in 2022, along with a $36 million hit in 2023 (of which they can get out of $28 million) and looks like hes completely washed up. Julio Jones, who has been hurt all year, has hits of $23, $23 and $19 while constantly being hurt. On top of that, they will likely be picking in the 6-12 range, so on the outside of the Fields/Lawerence sweepstakes. Thats not a great situation to go into. As for Fitzgerald, he has a good life coaching his "dream school", I dont see why he would want to come work for Woody/Chris Johnson. Campbell I can see as he likely have NFL aspirations and Harbough needs an out from Michigan so that makes sense too, but I just dont see someone like Fitzgerald leaving for the Jets.
