The Jets are going to need 20 Million to sign the pack of draft picks they have this year. Dumping Van Roten will just fit them in under the wire.

Average yearly salaries for Uzomah, Reed, Tomlinson, and Berrios add up to over approximately 40M alone and they also signed Whitehead and Sheppard. Depending on how they’re structured we may have to make some cuts before the draft. I think we’re done with FA. This is why I think they will draft a C and cut McGovern. It saves $10 million.

I really hope the Jets draft a young C, but not necessarily to cut McGovern right away. If somehow Linderbaum falls in the 2nd round, maybe, but taking a guy in the 3rd or 4th round and letting him backup C and G for a year might be the plan. The Jets are going to have new starters at RG and RT. McGovern, though I do think he's overrated here by some, is solid and can help bring continuity to the OL. TheNuuFaaolaExperience
The is a greater chance that JD may or may not be done with free agency, but I am leaning either way.
