6 QBs in the 1st 13 picks - Giants trade back - Mccarthy to the Vikings, Penix to the Raiders, Nix to the Broncos - 1st round prediction

Beacuse someone else may move up to take him. Maybe the Vikes dont bite on McCarthy and its all been just a smoke screen and their primary target has been Penix all along. Raiders are behing both the Broncos and Vikes who need QB's.  The 2nd tier of QB's (McCarthy, Penix, Nix) could go as early as 4 through 10 depending on how desperate those three teams (Vikes, Broncos, Raiders ) are.  The nosie is being generated more for McCarthy, then Penix, then Nix.  And we all know, teams dont sit back when they need a QB and always move up to get the one they want.

Actually wasn’t that far off with this. No one expected the falcons take Penix. But 6 QBs in the 1st 12 picks is definitely unprecedented.

A record 23 of the 32 selections were on the offensive side of the ball, easily besting the previous high of 19, as a bevy of records were set.

  • Six QBs in the first round ties the 1983 record
  • Fourth time QBs were taken with each of the first three picks
  • First time four QBs were taken in the top eight
  • First time five QBs were taken in the top 10
  • First time six QBs were taken in the top 12
  • First time all offensive players went in the top 10
  • Eight OTs in the first round ties the 2008 record
  • Seven WRs in the first round ties the 2004 record

14 offensive players in a row before Colts took Latu. Rex Ryan would be turning in his grave. :D
