Some reasons for optimisim

Recommended Posts

Bills down 14-3

dolphins and pats are playing one another.

bills rarely win when they are trailing early, but with our luck this will age poorly but regardless…

If things play out right, we will be playing the bills next week with the chance to be 3-3 and first in our division. Lots of ball left to play…I’m normally as negative s everyone else is but I’m gonna hold off until this bills game has been played.

Sure things look good in that aspect, but it doesn't matter when the on-the-field product is BAD.  No one is showing any optimism.  If Saleh gets the whole season then Hackett needs to go ASAP.

It’s so bad, just beaten down week after week. It defies all sense that in a league built on parity we’re down this road yet again. Here’s my last shred of optimism that I can muster:

There are 5 games on the schedule you MUST win, no exceptions.

  1. @ Patriots 10/27
  2. @ Cardinals 11/10
  3. Vs Colts 11/17
  4. @ Jaguars 12/15
  5. Vs Rams 12/22

that puts you at 7.

you then need to win 3 of these 7 to get to 10.

  1. Vs Bills 10/14
  2. @ Steelers 10/20
  3. Vs Texans 10/31
  4. Vs Seahawks 12/1
  5. @ Dolphins 12/8
  6. @ Bills 12/29
  7. Vs Dolphins 1/5

Just now, David Harris said:

Even if it falls right the jets themselves at some point have to seize the moment and elevate their play.  Outside of the isolated Pats game the offense has been bad.

Cant count on the team

Welp, I think after today, I can fully grasp the idea that Rodgers isn’t a target friendly qb. You have to be on his page or things won’t work. I think at times, we saw things looking better today in the second half. Unfortunately, on our last offensive play, we also saw that the guys still aren’t on his page yet. From what I’m seeing, Rodgers likely won’t adapt to his guys, the guys are going to have to adapt to him. The Williams int play for example, Williams is a high point specialist. Rodgers went for the back shoulder. Williams wasn’t looking for it, the result was an int. It was a flukey int that probably doesn’t happen most of the time, but it happened.  That wasn’t a bad throw, it was poor communication and execution.

At this point, best case we see here is a 4-4 record by week 8. Hopefully by that point, this offense is running more in sync, and the throwing and catching is a little more dialed in.

While the pass rush is meh, the defense can still win you a championship.

Fire Hackett. And my optimism will fly high.

Can it really just be him? Is Matt lafluer that good? Was Rodgers that good? How did the packers overcome it???
