Kraft is just trying to save his "image" by claiming he doesnt pocket cash... he knows he was a cheap bastard this past season...

Reche "run away bride" cladwell was their #1 WR... cheap only begins to explain it...

That is awesome for the Pats. They will spend the money that the league says they can spend. Too bad it is a year too late.

Look -- they have a good thing going. No doubt. But in sports who knows what each year brings. They went with Crazy Eyes Caldwell and let Branch walk. That is all well and good. Except Caldwell was dropping everything in site in the last game that they played (and lost) this season.

But they will spend more money next year, so it won't be an issue. Hopefully Brady is as happy with the replacement receivers as he was Branch. Because he liked him a lot.

Funny that Kraft has to "announce" this. When for most franchises it is just assumed.

John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said Friday, Feb. 2, the team will spend up to the salary cap in order to improve next season. "We're always going to spend to and over the cap," Kraft said. "We're not one of those teams that puts the money in our pockets. We're committed to spending." The Patriots could have as much as $30 million in cap room this offseason.

Since 2001 -

Regular Season: 70-26 (5 Division Titles)

Playoffs 12-2 (3 Superbowl Champions)

Second to None.

They could have had another one this year if the front office was into it. But hey, it was a great run so I can see why you are so happy with it.
