oxscott
http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2007/12/06/yankees-and-giants-chat-it-up/ Yankees and Giants chat it up December 6 It remains to be seen whether a match can be made. But we can confirm that the Giants and Yankees are talking and Hideki Matsui was mentioned. It makes sense in some ways. He would be a popular draw for the city

AFJF
I don't wanna see Matsui go....especially not for a guy with a 1-1 BB/K ratio and an ERA near 4.00 in the light hitting NL west. JMO of course.
NIGHT STALKER
http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2007/12/06/yankees-and-giants-chat-it-up/ I don't know about this. Yanks will want all the PR they can muster when they move into their new crib and what better PR then to have the Japanese press covering Matsui making an entrance. oxscott
Cain or Lincecum are the only players on that team that I would want. If that is the case, do it, otherwise, keep him.
Blackout
we do have a crowded outfield, maybe it's not a bad idea

CrazyCarl40
I highly doubt that Cain or Lincecum even enter the equation for Matsui. It would be an awful move for the Giants.
uart
we do have a crowded outfield, maybe it's not a bad idea We are crowded in the outfield AND at DH... Outfielders: Matsui, Damon, Melky, Abreu DH's: Matsui, Damon, Giambi, Duncan Trading Matsui ends the crowded OF, and brings the DH situation down to a manageable 2. anskyruben
I'm tired of seeing that confused look on his face when he goes into his funks during the season. Those seem to be happening more and more lately. I say bye bye.

Smizzy
If he's healthy this season, you should see much better numbers from him. No thanks. get him and his horribly weak arm out of NY....Immediatly.
uart
No thanks. get him and his horribly weak arm out of NY....Immediatly. His horribly weak arm isn't as bad in LF... he's actually pretty good over there, better than Matsui, and he's a legit leadoff hitter, which we don't have otherwise. AFJF
I know he isn't crazy about hitting lead off....but Jeters .388 career OBP is better than Damons. I'd be more than happy to have Jeter in that spot.

Bob
Letting Matsui go would be a bad idea. Yeah, the OF is crowded, now, but remember when Matsui and Sheff were injured? Our crowded OF got thin in a hurry.
Barton
The Giants have some great young bullpen arms.
DaBrick Wall
No way they trade him for Lowry. If they are trading probably their best power hitter after A-Rod, they better be getting back Jonathan Sanchez. Or throw in Ian Kennedy and get Lincecum. I can dream, can't I? uart
I'd prefer we traded Giambi to San Fran... But lets be honest with ourselves...
GimmeShelter
A source familiar with the early discussions told Newsday that Hideki Matsui and a prospect might be enough to net Noah Lowry or Jonathan Sanchez from the Giants. The Giants should be looking in a different direction, but it that's really the way talks have proceeded, than a Matsui acquisition wouldn't set the franchise back a lot further. Tim Lincecum apparently won't be on the table in a Matsui deal. If something is worked out, Matsui could still veto it with his no-trade clause. However, some believe he wouldn't, mostly out of deference to the Yankees. Source: Newsday

CanadianJet
It would suck to see Hideki go, but if we fail to get another pitcher this offseason and can get a decent player along with Lowry I definitely wouldn't mind this trade.
DaBrick Wall
why Oh, I don't know which part scares me more. The fact that he's 27 and not a prospect with room to improve, his 1.55 WHIP last year, or his sparkling 1:1 K:BB ratio. No way you trade your second best power hitter PLUS a prospect for a terrible pitcher.
