Its official......Lowell sucks.

With BC coming up on Friday Night (if you have NESN you can watch the debacle) and UMass on Saturday it doesn't look good.

Good time for them to reel you back in. ;)

They reeled me back in last season and got my hopes up for this season. Those bastards!

You can thank Lowell for getting UNH back on track. That 4-2 win before Christmas seemed to kick UNH into gear.

Standings as of 1/11/09

1. Northeastern-21pts

2. UNH- 17pts

3. VT- 16pts

4. BU- 15pts

5. BC- 13pts

6. Maine- 11pts

t7. UMass- 10pts

t7. Umass Lowell- 10pts

9. Merrimack- 6pts

10. Providence- 3pts.

Top 4 is slipping away as we are nearing halfway of the HE schedule.

UMass must pick up 4pts next weekend when the play Providence and Lowell if they want to compete for the top 4 spots.

Lowell needs big points the next 2 weekends before they get to the really difficult part of the schedule.

Maybe it is time to watch the Lowell Devils.

Minny lost both games this weekend

Northeastern should move up to #3 after sweeping Merrimack

National Championship for my Huskies???

Not so fast... you still have UMass 3 times and Lowell twice more.

:D

And VT will be very difficult.

I would be quite happy if Northeastern won. It would be great for the league and Northeastern- the new Kings of Boston.

Just win the god damn Beanpot first...

No need to get ahead of yourself as the Huskies swept Merrimack. Even Lowell beats those stiffs!

The Beanpot should be fun. I will be cheering for NU.

Might have to go this year

Was there the last time they won.....feels like just yesterday

I was a junior in High School back then and Whitesnake was my favourite band :P I'm talking about 1988.

The Beanpot should be called the BU/BC Invitational as those two schools always frickin' win.

Pairwise rankings are out

http://www.uscho.com/rankings/pwr.php

BU-1st

VT-3rd

Northeastern-tied 4th

BC-11th

UNH-13th

Maine-14th

No UMass/Lowell/Niagara.

The PairWiseSM Ranking is a system which attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I men's hockey tournament. The PWR compares the top 25 teams in the RPI Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), judging them by four criteria: record against common opponents, head-to-head competition, record against other top 25 teams if the team has faced at least 10 top 25 opponents, and the RPI.

For each comparison won, a team receives one point. The final PWR ranking is based on the number of points (comparisons) won against top 25 teams. Ties are settled by the RPI.

A more complete explanation of the workings of the PWR is also available in our FAQ. There is also a FAQ available explaining the NCAA Tournament selection process.

Lowell & Niagara have no business being anywhere near the top 30. UMass does (I just puked in my mouth typing those words).

It still makes me sick that Niagara or Bemidji State will get an NCAA berth for "winning" their 4 team division. I swear Merrimack would the CHA easily.

Umass doesnt deserve it either. Maybe if they take 4 pts this weekend from prov and Lowell... but 1pt against unh isnt good enough. Moral victories count for nothing.

I will laugh at you (not with you, at you!) if UMass loses to Providence. The Friars are all excited after beating a crappy Lowell team so you guys should destroy them.

I wish Lowell was in the CHA. We would be awesome!

Boston University 4 Merrimack 1

Vermont 1 Northeastern 3

Providence 5 UMASS 4

UMass Lowell 4 Boston College 3 OT

Bentley 3 Maine 1 :rl:

How the f#ck do you lose to Bentley?

And now you've got to play a very hot Providence team Sunday...

BTW... congrats to Lowell on their overtime win against BC. Hopefully they are too tired to play well tonight against Amherst.

There is... and will only get worse. unless someone goes on a run. otherwise they will be fighting to stay in the playoff hunt.

It looks like Merrimacks best chance is this weekend with Lowell. Anything less then 4 and it will be wait for next year.
