NIGHT STALKER
08:33 AM ET 11.16 The Tigers are contemplating a deal with Boston to send either Nate Robertson or Dontrelle Willis for Julio Lugo, but some money issues must be resolved. Thor99
Is Willis, or Robertson an upgrade over Colon, or Byrd? lol Byrd pitched okay. Colon had a couple of good starts. Neither will be on the Sox next year. Although, getting rid of Lugo is addition by subtraction.
GimmeShelter
Byrd pitched okay. Colon had a couple of good starts. Neither will be on the Sox next year. Although, getting rid of Lugo is addition by subtraction. Agree. Taking a flyer on any pitcher via a Lugo trade is well worth it. Lowrie should have a season or two to claim the SS job. BIGASS JETS FAN
Lugo for Willis makes the Sox worse. Sorry. Well Lugo isn't much better, Willis could turn it around, not likely, but better then keeping Lugo who just SUCKS.

JonEJet
If you're going to take a flyer on anyone, Willis wouldn't be a bad idea
PFSIKH
If you're going to take a flyer on anyone, Willis wouldn't be a bad idea Holly crap.....JoneE is the voice of reason. The guy is 26. It is not like this is Pavano who crapped through 4 years of largely forgettable play. This is a low risk (losing Lugo) high reward move.
The Gun Of Bavaria
Sniff.....sniff Hmm...let's see. Tigers just RAISED ticket prices, initiated "Premium Game Ticketing", trying to offload huge feces filled contracts in return for cheaper human feces filled contracts, AND they've all but said they're not spending $ on Free Agents this year. 2 Words: FIRE SALE

Lil Bit Special
Willis would be the better of the 2 pitchers, but he would need some serious work with the pitching coach and the sports psychologist to get himself worked out properly. faba
I would take a hot with Willis- to try to get him back in form - a young and left handed pitcher is a good combo to try to reclimate.

Not sure I'd like having two lefties in the rotation at Fenway.

The Sox are the perfect team for him to do this with. With Beckett, Lester and Dice-K, he does not have to be the staff ace. He can be the 4th or 5th starter with Wakefield.
