PS17
I'm hoping for Washburn, but that seems unlikely because the M's wanna go for it this year. Who do you want?
Vudu
Buster Olney said on ESPN News that the Yanks are activley pursuing Washburn and the Mariners aren't seeking Joba or Hughes.
MagicBizkit87
If they aren't seeking Hughes, or Joba, than what the hell is this team waiting for. Don't they know we've got Mitre starting tomorrow? Get this guy out of the rotation and add Washburn already.
Otter
I think the Yanks will end up getting a starter before the trade deadline tomorrow. I prefer Washburn, but I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up with John Garland or Doug Davis.
CrazyCarl40
I don't want the Yankees to get Washburn for two reasons. 1. He'll make the Yankees better. 2. I'll have to release from my fantasy team and he's doing well!

Otter
I guess the Yanks are trying to get Brian Bannister from the Royals, now that Washburn is gone.

MagicBizkit87
If we have to continue having Sergio Mitre in the rotation, Joe Girardi isn't the only person that needs to be fired. Brian Cashman as well.

Lil Bit Special
YANKS GET HAIRSTON The Yankees have obtained Jerry Hairston from the Reds, The Post has learned. Hairston is a righty batter who plays all over and ios hitting .254 this year with eight homers.
Klecko73isGod
Feels like the Yankees are being shut out. Doesn't feel like the Yanks are tryin' all that hard. They may be happy with the team as currently constructed. They are the hottest team in the majors since mid-May. Don't fix what ain't broken, ya know what I mean? MagicBizkit87
So we're getting a .254 hitter, with a .305 On Base percentage. Your doing a fantastic job, Cashman... LOL

MagicBizkit87
I'm still hoping for Bannister, but I did really want Washburn. Bannister I don't think is going to matter much anyway. I mean he's better than Mitre, but he still isn't anything special. Meanwhile, why the hell did we go and get Eric Hinske? This guy is better than Nick Swisher, and all he does is sit on the bench. Lil Bit Special
http://twitter.com/nyp_joelsherman Hairston has played 3B, SS, 2B, LF, RF, CF in '09. I think this means goodbye to Cody Ransom #Yankees.
faba
the Yanks were looking for a guy to come off the bench and fill in so trade for Hairston makes sense from that viewpoint.

Otter
I guess Cashman will be watching the waiver wire over the next month. I'm not excited about the prospects of landing Bronson Arroyo or Aaron Harang, but they're both better than Kei. Mitre has some time to prove himself now.
