THE ILK
FOX NFL analyst Michael Strahan joined the Dan Patrick show to talk about the divisional round. Listen to this segment Dan asked Strahan who he would take if he could have one defensive player in the playoffs: Julius Peppers, Clay Matthews, Troy Polamalu or Darrelle Revis. Strahan went with this order: 1) Peppers, 2) Polamalu, 3) Matthews, 4) Revis. "The most important guy other than the quarterback is the guy who can disrupt him," Strahan said. Strahan had some interesting comments on motivation. He said playing angry only goes so far. You use it, but you can't rely solely on it. Strahan likes the Packers and Jets in the next round. Strahan said the Jets aren't just hype ... they have big linemen that are hard to handle. Strahan also weighed in on the poll. He said it's not even close -- FOX has the toughest pregame show. He said that his crew has a combination of size and grittiness. "If Jay Glazer just punches you straight out, you know he's hitting you in the groin, because he's so short," Strahan said. Dan asked if he was afraid of CBS. "We just go over there and go boo, and they would run," Strahan said. JiFtheOracle
First off, he's a DLineman so he's clearly going to favor Peppers for that reason. I'd take Matthews personally. Guy is unreal.

He did admit to that in the interview, it's a decent listen.

RutgersJetFan
Strahan is high on cock again if he's taking Peppers over Revis. Matthews maybe but not Peppers.
THE ILK
I always would want a dominant pass rusher over a shut down corner, but... After the Colts game, I'd say Revis made a strong case for himself being more valuable in a game where a HOF QB has a real go to guy.

Jetsfan80
The difference between Revis and the rest of the guys is that Revis is the only one that is not allowed to have an off-day or even one play where he slacks off. For the job he is given, no one does it better.

The Fox pregame easily has the better D-Line with Strahan and Howie Long at DE...

nycdan
Same here, Matthews is a beast against the run and pass. Id go Matthews, Revis, Troy and Peppers. As someone said earlier, it depends on the opponent. Against a team with one dominant WR (Adnre Johnson, Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson) Revis is worth his weight in gold. But against a spread offense like the Colts or Pats (or Packers), you need a lot more than one dominant CB to stop them. On the other hand, a dominant pass-rusher is always effective. So yeah, for a 3 or 4-game playoff run, I'd go with Peppers or Matthews over Revis too as the most important guy. BUT... If you're drafting a full defense, then you look at value over the next guy and Revis might be the guy. There are other pass rushers who can do what Peppers does, but almost nobody who can do what Revis does as consistently.
serphnx
Matthews and Raji make my head spin. Fortunately if anybody can avoid the rush and extend plays, it's Mark Sanchez. I just hope we do a better job blocking those two.
Bugg
I would take Peppers first too. Peppers did next to nothing against Wayne Hunter. And the Bears' defense looked pretty awful in the 4th quarter yesterday. He's #4 in this group.
