Typical stupid move

Why is signing an OT stupid? We are about to cut bait on 2 - 3 OTs. We should sign several more.....let them battle it out. Maybe there's a diamond in the ruff. Maybe there's a backup out there we might keep. Only one way to find that out is to bring them in. If they suck, move on.

Still looking to add some depth  on their offensive line, the Jets announced the signing of former Houston Texans guard/offensive tackle Jeff Adams.

Adams, a six-year veteran, is a University of Columbia product who has played in just four pro games (2 starts) for the Houston Texans. However, the 6′ 7”, 305 pounder  has battled knee injuries for much of his career, most recently forcing him to miss weeks 3-17 of the 2015 season before spending 2016 on the Texans practice squad.

Having bounced around on several different practice squads, the Jets official site says his stop with Gang Green will make the Jets Adams’ sixth team in as many pro seasons as he also spent time with Dallas, Cincinnati, Miami and Tennessee before going to Houston.

Adams intrigued the Jets as far back as 2012 when they had him in for a pre-draft workout, but the big man went unpicked before signing with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.

I heard that this guy was suspended twice in 1 season for substance abuse.

I think you're confusing him with the D-lineman they just signed from the Packers, Mike Pennel.  He was suspended for first and last four games of last season.

Adams is a guy who played OT in college and has had a pair of starts at guard.

Injury prone and not very good.
