The Jets have announced the signing of former San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Brian Parker, a small school product out of the University of Albany.

Parker is no stranger to the Jets, but his last stint couldn’t have been much shorter as he was let go after just two days after failing a physical during the 2016 season.

Now, back with the Jets on a roster that is still devoid of an established tight end, the Jets give him his best chance to stick on an NFL roster.

Parker has just one career reception and has played double-digit snaps only once in his career (17 vs. Det on 11/1/15). Checking in at 6′ 4” 265 lbs, Parker is likely viewed primarily as a blocker with some developmental potential as a pass catcher.

There are some serious athletes in that group.  Brian Parker was literally the best athlete coming out at TE in 2015.  SPARQ score of 134.1 which puts him in the 90th percentile of TEs in the NFL.  2015 SPARQ Rankings TE  Big, fast, long arms, huge hands, good leaper.  Exactly what you want.  Great Danes FTMFW!

yeah i was pissed they had to let him go last season.  I have been watching the limited video of him on youtube and I like to see what he dos this Preseason.

With all that talent and they're still adding more, I think it's safe to say the Jets have no interest in OJ Howard.

I know you are joking, but I think this might actually mean they will be considering TEs. I don't think they carried this many TEs last offseason.  The fact that they are bringing bodies in may indicate that they are planning to actually utilize them.  Of course they may just be throwing stuff at the wall, which is better than re-signing Kellen Davis.  Kellen Davis should actually be thrown against the wall.

I was kidding but to be honest, I think if ASJ gets his head on straight, he could be a really good TE.
