Many people seem to hate the idea that a disease can control behavior to this extent, as it seemingly removes agency from the player, but when you look at the extent of the changes in a victim's brain, the evidence becomes pretty overwhelming. Maybe in his case some CTE was enabled by using the older technology helmets the league won't let him use anymore. Couple days ago the league said no, after the helmets he submitted to the NFL failed their tests, so it seems he'll have to play by the same rules as everyone else.
