Kyle Pitts 4.46 40 yard dash

If he measures 6'3, 215 today will he be too small?

He wont be 6’4 or 6’5 which is a prototype size for a top QB prospect and when you pick this high you try to eliminate risk by checking off that box. If he measures above 6’2” I will feel a little better. Doesnt have to be 6’3.. my guess is he will be 6’1 and change. Still also worried about his competition and the captain things. The answers to those questions change the way I feel drastically.

I will be very disappointed if he's under 6'2 1/2....or under 210...

And that's just because I think he's been out there talking about his weight and how he's up over 210..if he's the kind of kid that would lie about that, knowing he's going to be measured, I would be concerned about him.

I get the competition thing, I think the captain thing is overblown a bit, but can surely understand the worry.

Today should be interesting.

Yeah I agree. The captain thing could be completely explainable or really really bad.

Heres the thing. A girl who is very good friends with my son and was a student team trainer on his college football team is now a college trainer for Florida. I kind of have an inside scoop on Pitts. From the sounds of it Pitts is as solid as can be. He is huge, shows up to everything, is a good guy and is loved by his teammates. Add to that his measurements and I am completely biased about picking Pitts pretty much regardless of what Wilson does today. Its things like what this girl has said about Pitts that you and I never see or hear about. I also think bad teams dont look into this stuff well enough.

Whats the matter, Google doesnt work?  Because with my Google, Chase is rated above Pitts in every single top 50 rankings list.  You can like Pitts over Chase but the dumb assed pic says youre confused by simple logic

And once upon a time Kevin Dyson was rated above Randy Moss.  Yahoo was the big search engine

I said he shouldn’t be because of his size. Idk how you can say Mayfield has been good. He has been Sanchez good. He has all the weapons in the world on that team. Good franchises dont pick shrimps in the top 5.

Mayfield is Case Keenum Jr with an all-world offensive line and weapons

I feel like the draft is pretty much like picking a wife/girlfriend. You try to eliminate risk as much as possible. But that girl with a hot ass is just so tempting that you start to believe you can change the fact that you can’t stand being in the same room as her. Ryan Leaf for example was that porn star you really believe you can turn into a housewife.

Vernon Davis is an amazing athlete, but he was never an excellent receiver/actually good at the footballs.

Pitts is special.

This 40 confirms what's been said about him for a year now - he's a freak and what you saw from him on Saturdays is likely what you're gonna see from him on Sundays.

I don't think anyone is arguing for him to be taken #2. But he's definitely a top target if we traded down.

Plus Vernon Davis had a 15 year NFL career, 178 game starts a YPC of 13.  Let's all pretend that would be below average for a Jets player drafted at 2.  Consider we drafted D'Brick ahead of him and was a slightly above average LT for 11 years and was probably the best top 5 pick we have had since Namath.

Really? Thats BS.  Everyone had Moss highly ranked.  Difference is he was behavioral risk

Every single scouting service has ranks them with Chase as the top receiver of any kind.  But hey, theyre all wrong and youre right.

I’m sorry skippy they are wrong.  If Pitts didn’t miss 3 games last season his stats would have been ridiculously good and there wouldn’t even be a debate about him being the second best player in this draft

Its a TE skippy.  A top WR is worth more than a top TE every day of the week.

Youre whining about 3 games, Chase took the friggen season off and still is ranked higher than Pitts by everyone
