CBs used to be valued more, but I dont think thats the case anymore given the PI rules.  Who is the best CB in the NFL?  Does that guy really take away one player every sunday?  I just dont think there are many Revis' around

Im not advocating taking Hamilton but I do think spending a 2nd round pick on someone like Battle is worth it as a good safety (think Buddha Baker) can really impact the game, esp for a team that plays zone.

I agree that the Jets need a quality safety, but like yourself, I'm not advocating taking a safety in the first round.

If there were great players in every position in the first round when we pick, I would get a stud wide receiver and a stud edge rusher.  After that, if all things were equal, I would get a solid center and a solid tight end in round 2.  After that, safety would be my choice, then linebacker and then guard. 

As we all know, everything is never all equal, so the Jets need to get the best player on the board.  But even if the best player is Hamilton in round 1, I wouldn't take him, since I don't value safety as much as other positions of need.

So what I'm hearing is that the Giants are saving our draft since they are right behind us and they need a QB.  Some other QB needy team will want to get ahead of them.
