AfterBurner10
In the future do you think the Jets will honor Curtis Martin by retiring 28? It's obvious that he will be a HOF'er, and I would have no problem with it. Should any one elses # be retired as well?
Boozer76
I don't want anyone on this team's number retired until Joe klecko's is properly done so. Until then nobody.

Jetlag
It was allready retired 2 years ago???? What the hell is Boozer talking about? BTW the better question: Will Curtis Martin ever be retired?
#27TheDominator
What about poor Carl Howard? Will he be allowed to wear his own shirt at old-timers day?
Spudicus
Retire it the same year he becomes a HOF'er, have a nice big celebration on opening day, no sonner. I forget who on the board said it, but they were right only HOF'ers should be retired. If your good enough to be in there, then your enough of a legend to have no one else wear your number. So only sportswriters should determine whose # is worthy of being retired?
timbok
I believe Martin has been the top guy at the Jets for many years,he is a good athlete, and he has helped the Jets MANY times over and should have is number retired. TIMBOK-SPORTSWRITER-HE'S IN.
SouthernJet
When is he going to retire? He is becoming the Mickey Mantle or Generalissimo Franco of Football here.
timbok
I think if he plays this year it will be his last
shawn306
So only sportswriters should determine whose # is worthy of being retired? I think that is kind of the way the Jets were doing it until they retired Klecko's number. Martin (if he ever officially does retire) will have his number retired. Hey Sperm: Would there have been a cap hit if Martin retired ? To me that seems like the only reason he has not officially retired.
SouthernJet
I think if he plays this year it will be his last it was a joke,, no way in hell he plays this year,, especially on Jets. Mangini isnt a idiot. CM would be a waste of space on our roster with Jones here now especially.

And it will probably still hit another couple million in '08.
timbok
Ok the odd's of CM playing again are low. But say he announces tomorrow"I have a dream to be a shrimp boat captain, therefore i retire from the nfl" they retire hisnumber in a few years not right away.
