Contacts Lenses

I've been wearing contacts for about 22 years. I now have bifocal lenses, which are awesome for a relic like me. They are taken out and cleaned daily, but I throw them out monthly and use a new pair. I don't believe in the ones you leave in all the time. The proteins build up on them and you will be prone to minor eye infections. If you can afford them, get the ones you throw away daily. If not, the monthly ones which I use are great. PM me if you have specific questions. We have the best eye doctor who specializes in contacts. Even though it's a haul from Putnam County, we still go to her on Long Island for our annual check ups.

Great! Thanks a lot, Boro.

When they first came out, now I play rugby in them, swim, fight, ****, drink, ****, shower, piss, run, fart, stand, walk, sleep, drive, skydive, smoke, trip, roll, jump, climb ladders, I'm guessing you got the point.

I wear the monthlies & like garb wear em 2-3 months. take em out every night. you got lucky mick cause they haven't helped me play 1 bit of rugby

I do. I just don't want to go blind in 20 years.

you won't. i've been wearing em 32 years & my vision has actually improved slightly in the last 4 years.

I was lucky & never had any trouble or discomfort. others don't care for them. I'd say give them a chance

I heard they are VERY uncomfortable at first. I think my eyes will eventually adapt to them. Eh?

not really. I avoided contacts for 10 years but finally decided to get them a year ago.

Most of the time i barely know they are in there.. I change mine every 2 weeks which works perfect for me.

i would suggest having a pair of glasses as backup so you can slowly transition into wearing contacts.

I got glasses. I just don't wear them unless I'm driving at night or watching porn in my bed.

You should get them. You'll be amazed at how much more you can see--and how much you've missed without them. They're not uncomfortable at all except for the very first time you put them in. Get the monthlies. Just make sure you do all the right stuff--especially don't sleep in them, and they'll be great.

Don't sleep in them? I thought that's the point of monthlies.

No. Listen. Lenses come out--even for monthlies--after a day of wear in order to be cleaned and allow them to rehydrate. Also, showering with them in dries the lenses out. So, you should apply rewetting drops after you shower.

This is not entirely true. My daughters both have lenses that they do not have to remove at night. My elder daughter wears them for two weeks at at time, sleeping, showers and all, with no problems.

i love contact i have been wearing them almost 9 years now and could not do the things i love without them... plus i have very light eyes so the sun is a pain in the butt so i wear sunglasses almost every where during the day and without contact i would be able to afford Oakleys and other nice shades... im like garb i wear the monthlies and wear them for about 2-3 months... and i only take them out when there bother me.. Clear Eyes drops tends to really dry them out ;)
