Matt Jones

Seriously how has Tanny and Rex not even given Matt Jones a look this offseason? He's a tall (6'6") and absurdly fast receiver who is more proven than anyone on our roster besides Cotch. He finally seemed to be getting it last year and seemed to be doing better. He has to be worth at least a look, and with him still unsigned we could probably sign him for the vet minimum. I'd much rather start the season with Matt Jones as our #2 next to Cotch than David Clowney.

I actually think Cotch, Jones, and Stuckey in the slot would make an above average WR group. It's definitely better than anything we have now.

He went to rehab, and if he can play who the ***** cares? Lawrence Taylor was probably the biggest coke head the NFL has ever seen and you probably would have given anything for him to be a Jet.

Did you not notice where I said a #2 next to Cotch? He sure has done a ton more than Clowney ever has.

alot more coke maybe.....there is a reason NO TEAMS are trying to sign a scrub with a coke problem....The only reason you guys want him is cause he is 6'6" tall.

All I know is Matt Jones has proven a hell of a lot more than David Clowney, Brad Smith, Chansi Stuckey and Wallace Wright combined. In 2008 alone.

You are posting that a guy who had 65 for 761 in 12 games and acting like it's bad. Over 16 games that's about 87 for over 1000.

Actually, the real question concerning Matt Jones is how come NOT A SINGLE TEAM IN THE NFL HAS ATTEMPTED TO SIGN HIM?

The Jets aren't the only team in the NFL that needs receivers. The Bears number 1 receiver is a converted CB, they have no interest in Matt Jones.

What does it tell you when NO ONE is interested in a guy?

Iceman.....re-read your post above and ask yourself why no one has signed this guy. Do you really think this team needs to dip into this pool for talent?

Where did you get this bullsh*t promise land crap from? Nobody has been saying anything about him being a savior. This has actually been the most realistic no expectations, no exaggerations thread I have seen all off season on these forums.

How can you try and say Matt Jones wouldn't be an upgrade on this roster at the #2 WR spot?

When our #2 WR is David Clowney who has one NFL reception (the preseason doesn't mean sh*t for him he's never played against anything better than second stringers) than yes we really should look at Jones. I'm not even saying sign him, just give him a workout. It's called leaving no stone unturned and he could be a solid player for us at the veteran minimum.
