Arsis
Absolutely the only real difference between this year and the offense the Jets faced last year is the change at OC. Different QB is kinda minor. Not even worth mentioning. System QB.

You would know that if you looked at the next 3 paragraphs, which focused on the coaching staff. Tool.

Jetsfan80
I know he will be playing this weekend and taking footballs into the Jets endzone. How nice of him, he's gonna return our balls to Coach Ryan during pre-game warm-ups? That's like a 70 yard hike from the opposite end of the field. What a swell guy. Pyper
http://jetsfan.com His team looked rusty against Buffalo and may need time to get Tom Brady back into form but it is their defense that looks especially vulnerable. This unit not only lost considerable talent, it lost a ton of veteran leadership. Belichick will have this team playing better with each passing week but right now they look pretty ordinary. The Jets might be fortunate to be playing them so early because I expect them to be much more formidable by the time their November 22 rematch rolls around. Agreed. The defense will improve as the year goes on. It's all about the younger and/or new players mastering the coverages and schemes. Offense In Super Bowl XLII the Giants brought consistent pressure on Brady and had a lot of success. He was sacked five times, was pressured much more than that and threw for only one touchdown. More importantly, his average completion was 5.5 yards, significantly less than his 8.3 average that year. That was actually his average attempt, not his average completion. (29/48, 266 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT's) The Patriots
Jetsfan80
It's a mistake to assume the stratagy employed vs the Bills who have one of the best WR tandems in the entire league will be similar to what we show against the Jets and their collection of semi-pro wideouts. Semi-pro? Please. You couldn't handle Jerricho or Keller in Foxboro last season, what makes you think your broken ass defense will handle them this season? Stuckey will do to NE just what he did to Houston last week, too. And unless I remember incorrectly, big bad T.O. had a number of key drops against you last week to help keep the Pats in the game. Sunday can't come fast enough.
#27TheDominator
The game plan vs the Bills was to double team Evans and Owens all game long and force the bills to be patient. Our secondary accomplished both tasks as neither receiver impacted the game. It's a mistake to assume the stratagy employed vs the Bills who have one of the best WR tandems in the entire league will be similar to what we show against the Jets and their collection of semi-pro wideouts. talisaynon
Translation: Expect Clowney's first regular season NFL TD this week. Thought the same thing boss. Hopefully we air it out this week against a suspect secondary. Lots of Gos. Bellichick is going to be sniffin screen, draw plays, and thus, probably playing the short yardage game. Time to see what Sanchez's arm is made of.
#27TheDominator
What I actually expect are a ton of confusing coverages, dropping lineman, rotating zones to confuse the rookie. BB is probably the best at that ****. The problem for him is that his new "athletic defense" is probably considerably dumber and less experienced than last year's version. Yermo
Two points really stand out for me- 1. Jenkins and company have to generate pressure up the middle. When Brady can't step up in the pocket he is not as effective, several times in the first half against the Bills there were incompletions not because anyone touched Brady on the rush, but because he could not go through his progressions and then step up an on his throws. Pressure from the outside does not have the same effect, he steps up or slide steps away and continues to go through his reads. 2. In the Giants superbowl win they managed to do pressure up the middle with their DL, and while I think Jenkins can do this at times pressure will need to come primarily from Harris, Scott, and Rhodes up the middle between the tackles. Here is where disguising and timing blitzes becomes critical. When the Pat's spread and/or go no huddle, Brady actually seems to slow things down at the line, they will set and then Brady will spend 5 or 6 seconds at the line reading the D and adjusting protection. Last year the Jets telegraphed their blitzes at this time, and never seemed to time them right, someone would commit to early and be id'd or would get a late start on the snap. Here is where Rex's scheming and coaching will pay off... imo-
