New York Jets announce nine-man college scouting staff
Rich Cimini, ESPN Staff Writer

New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan, continuing his offseason makeover, announced his nine-man college scouting staff on Tuesday -- and it included only two holdovers from the previous regime.

You won't recognize any of the names, but college scouts are the anonymous stars in every great organization. Maccagnan wanted to surround himself with his people, so he blew up the previous scouting staff even though it contributed to what was widely heralded as a successful draft.

The holdovers are Jay Mandolesi, who will scout the Southeast region, and Johnathon Stigall, who will handle the Midwest. Here's a listing of the new scouts, followed by their area and past employers:

National scouts:

Lee Gissendaner (East Coast) -- Green Bay Packers

Jim Jauch (West Coast) -- San Diego Chargers

Zach Truty (Central) -- Chicago Bears

Area scouts:

Xavier Adibi (Plains) -- Kansas City Chiefs

Bill Dekraker (Northeast) -- Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals.

Dom Green (Southwest) -- Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Brian Shields (West Coast) -- St. Louis Rams

Between the roster rebuild and entire player personnel department overhaul, gotta figure Mac is an early favorite for exec of the year. Just based on how much he did since being hired. Getting results will just make it a lock.

Wasn't Xavier Adibi a LB a few years back from SC drafted by Houston?

Va Tech. Drafted by Houston

Adibi — Plains

Adibi was a linebacker drafted out of Virginia Tech by Houston in the fourth round (118th overall) of the 2008 draft. He played for the Texans, Vikings and Titans, then scouted for the Chiefs

Wow, a list of names and their areas and past employers? It's this kind of vital inside info that gets Richie the big bucks.

I do kind of like the fact that they all came from different places.  It seems too often these guys raid wherever they come from and people follow them around.  Bowles in particular seems to be friendly and respected by everybody.

Is this even a thing?

The name Jim Jauch brings back fond memories, his father Ray was a coach in the CFL for the team I cheer for Edmonton Eskimos and he turned around a team that had been sad sack for years and built them into a Grey Cup winner.
