Trade Mo and no.20 to move up and nab Myles Jack

We need speed.  Jack is our man.  He would be a top-5 safety, top-5 RB, or top-5 LB in the draft.  He's that good.

I think the Jaguars are the best bet to target for a trade-up. They are flush with cap space, and they need to spend it.  If they add Bruce Irvin in free agency, like I think they will, they can afford to pass on Jack (both are light-bodied, speed freaks).  This trade allows them to also add a 26 year old ProBowler (in Wilkerson) that can play DT or DE on a DL that just released Chris Clemons, and still allow them to address their secondary with the no.20 pick where they can likely still add the third best CB in the draft.

Getting Fowler back from injury will be huge for them, but adding Mo gives them a PROVEN play maker that can take them over the top

Other players on that D-line

LDE: Andre Branch

DT: Tyson Alualu

DT: Roy Miller

RDE: Dante Fowler

Big Mo could start over any of them, and give them ridiculous depth, or insurance in case of an injury.

Other trade-up targets include Dallas at no.4 (though their cap situation isn't much better than ours; they are 26th to our 29th at the moment), or San Francisco at no.7 (who has plenty of dough, but might not be in position to grab him).

The consolation pick would be to stay at 20, and grab Darren Lee. Play him with pricey Mo on the line.  But he's no Jack.

(fwiw, I think we should also pull the trigger on Jaylon Smith if he's available in the 4th round...just in case he heals.  That would mean getting TWO of the drafts best players)

OKAY KEEP MO,

Sign him to a goshdang extension that keeps him happy without debilitating the team, then draft Darren Lee in the first round.

He's no Jack.  But the collective talent of Mo and Lee is better than Jack alone.  I guess.

(but then I would like to see us get a pass rushing specialist, specifically, Eric Striker, in the fourth/fifth round).

Even though I like Miles Jack I wouldn't do it. Jack is a dual threat player. He can play both sides of the ball. He was a very effective running back with UCLA as well as LB. It would be a lot of fun seeing if in the NFL he could regularly play on both sides.

i thought we could have traded mo to the giants for the 10th pick and maybe a 4th rounder ... but they signed Olivier Vernon and signed back JPP and they got Harrison from us so that's a no go. Unless someone higher up than that is willing to take him and give us a 1st and maybe a 5th rounder... i dont see a point in trading him.

That would have been an awesome trade just to see the fallout here.  Snacks and Mo on the Gints?  Holy crap!

These comments are like the ones that you get when a Cb in college can return kicks as if it is some big value added, it won't be.  He is going to play Lb in the NFL and that;s it.  Oh a team might be cute and out him back there a time or two but the 1st time he gets cranked hard he'll be defense only.
