    • Many people just look superficially at the trade compensation coming back instead of the financial implications.  On the surface, getting a 2026 6th back for a good starting DL may seem like not that much if you don't consider the salary cap space gained by the trade. Having said that, it was reported that Denver and the Jets had an agreement on trade compensation that included a Jets 2024 5th round pick (I believe the one they received from MIN for the Round 1 trade down), but the Jets ended up using it to trade up for Corley.  The full terms of the original deal weren't disclosed, but presumably if the Jets were giving up a 5th this year, they were going to get back a higher pick this year (perhaps a 4th?), and that would have arguably been a more valuable asset. Reportedly, trading that pick out from under the Broncos put the deal in jeopardy until the new compensation was agreed upon.  The Broncos were likely not too happy that the agreed-upon pick was pulled out from under them, and it's probably not out-of-bounds to infer that the Jets ended up getting less draft compensation back because of it. The #Jets gave DE John Franklin-Myers permission three weeks ago to speak to teams about a trade, per source. The Broncos showed interest. JFM agreed to a new, two-year deal with Denver (a pay cut from what he was due to make with the Jets, but still a chunk of guaranteed money). Then, the two teams agreed on trade compensation, but the deal almost got blown up yesterday when the Jets traded the pick that was supposed to go to Denver (used it in the Corley trade-up), per source. The deal appeared in jeopardy, but the Jets and Broncos agreed to the new compensation (a sixth rounder in 2026). JFM will sign his new deal tomorrow.
    • Wrong about how all of those environmental factors really weren't meaningful in the analysis of determining whether Zach Wilson is an NFL-caliber QB.  Which he isn't.  10 Pro Bowlers at every other offensive spot + Andy Reid at OC + an elite defense wouldn't have changed that. Since you can't come to terms with that, the thread continues!
    • Different style of player, but Corley has the toughness that reminds me of Steve smith. Same height as well. Hopefully it translates
