Holmes Out; Jets At Bengals Injury Report

JetNation

Recommended Posts

Santonio Holmes didn’t practice this week and Rex Ryan has officially declared that he will not play this week.  Nick Mangold is listed as questionable (ribs) but Rex told the media that Mangold will play.

For the Bengals they will be missing their star CB Leon Hall.  He suffered a season ending torn ACL against the Detroit Lions.  The only reason why he is on this list and not on IR is because the Bengals are apparently waiting for WR Andrew Hawkins to come off the IR with a designation to return list on Monday.

How tired of this guy are you?  What a waste of talent. I can't wait till he is gone and hired by the likes of the Jags, if they would even have him.

I hope he gets the TO treatment and is forced to take a one-year, vet minimum deal.

Few things would give me more joy.   Actually... watching the Jets have an improbable run to the SuperBowl and watching Rex sit Holmes ( who would miraculously be healthy for the game) because we got there without him would be delightful.

ESPN is showing his picture as possibly being on the trade block

I'm not sure the cap ramifications of that move, but if Idzik could pull that off, he'd deserved to be publicly fellated. Holmes, when healthy, is easily the best receiver on this team, but I think when you factor in Karma, it'd be a plus move.

He's been dogging it all year, whether he's hurt or playing. Holmes is the guy most likely to get Geno intercepted

Not that it particularly matters, but he's missing the season with a torn Achilles, I believe it's the same injury that he suffered last year.  I don't know if the recovery-period is exacerbated by a reinjury, but that's a big blow to a guy who's turning 29 in a couple months.

Newman's been banged up as well, which leads to some potentially decent matchups for our WRs.

Yep, just getting him away from Geno is a plus in my mind.  He had probably his best statistical game of his career with Geno and there's no doubt in my mind he's gonna sit on that until he feels like he wants to come back.  He has that game in his pocket to show he's still capable of doing it, so there's not much else he has to show this year.  Would love to see him off the team.

That's his trademark.  The reason the Steelers traded him for a low pick and the reason he so quickly wore out his welcome with the Jets is embedded in his DNA.  The guy is lazy, unmotivated and utterly devoid of the slightest scintilla of pride and character.  In short, a total POS.  The sooner he is gone, the better off the team will be.
