Ken Schroy
Bears waive Santonio Holmes By Marc Sessler Around the NFL Writer Published: Nov. 11, 2014 at 04:17 p.m. The Santonio Holmes experiment is over in Chicago. The Bears on Tuesday announced that the veteran wide receiver has been waived after nine games with the team that signed him as a free agent in August. Holmes saw work as a punt returner in Chicago, while his eight catches ranked sixth on the team. Before his lone grab from Jay Cutler in Sunday night's loss to Green Bay, Holmes had accounted for just one reception since Week 3. Chris Williams looms as a candidate to take over punt-returning duties for the rest of Chicago's increasingly ugly season. As for the 30-year-old Holmes, it wouldn't surprise us to see him latch on elsewhere, but his days as a playmaking wideout loom as a fading speck in the rear-view mirror. T0mShane
Not too shabby for Holmes. Only took him nine weeks to ruin that locker room.
JetsFanInDenver
Thank God. Dodged a bullet. Just wonder how frustrated the fan base would be if Holmes was putting in above average performances on top of Sanchez's above average performance's. I betchha there would have been 12 threads on wanting to bring Genius Tanny back. Some d-bag would be over here begging for money so he and his friends could put up a billboard asking for Tanny to be brought back. Tragedy averted.
