Actually, look at it. Only the NL Central and the AL East have more than 2 teams at 500 or better.

And even if the AL East was as bad as the skankee haters say it was the Yankees still have to play all the AL teams. This isn't football where a team can get a cake walk schedule and play nobody good.

And we have a winning record against teams above .500

Well, with the unbalanced schedule, the Yankees will play more games against 500 teams than teams in another division.

It's not like the Rangers a few years ago going 15-4 against the Astros

That's not even remotely true. Gammons has no idea what he's talking about anymore. You're telling me some contending team couldn't use a Shane Victorino in the outfield and clubhouse? Or a Koji or Tazawa in the pen? Napoli is terrible this year but he'd fetch something, not anything worthwhile, but addition by subtraction.

Buster Olney just now on ESPN radio on if the Red Sox sell: "Who in the world do they have to trade? Just Victorino and he's always hurt and owed a lot of money"

Take a good look, you'll never see this again. Dunno if anyone else noticed the white spikes Gardner wore on Sunday, I did and loved them.... they look great, but of course the no fun Yankees put a quick end to that.

Can't grow beards, can't wear spikes they want, so lame....

It's a Major League Baseball rule, 51% of the cleats have to be black. Gardner was warned and if he wears them again will be fined $500 by MLB.

He's MLB Network actually.  But yes, he said both of those things.  It's more of a national media epidemic than just ESPN.

All the yankee haters blow the Red Sox and up until the deflategate all the football writers thought Belichick and Brady walked on water.

So far this series against the division rival Orioles has been a huge success for the Yankees. They took the first two games, extended their lead in the AL East to a season-high 5.5 games, and have upped their postseason odds to 88.7% per FanGraphs. This afternoon is a chance to finish the sweep and further push the Orioles in the rear-view mirror.

According to Buster Olney (subs. req’d), rival executives are expecting the Yankees to listen to offers for catcher prospect Gary Sanchez. The team has reportedly “sworn off” trading top prospects like Aaron Judge and Luis Severino, but Sanchez is a notch below those guys, and it makes sense to make him available with Brian McCann and John Ryan Murphy entrenched at the MLB level.
