sourceworx
I saw a report that the Jets interviewed Chad Kelly at the Senior Bowl. I admittedly don't follow college football that much, but I looked into this kid, and he's interesting. He's Jim Kelly's nephew. Has had several off the field incidents, including being kicked off of Clemson's team. He also is coming off an ACL injury, so his draft stock is pretty low. However after watching some of his game videos, his talent is undeniable. He has a big arm, and a gunslinger mentality. Reminds me of Favre a little bit. I'm wondering what people's opinion of him are. Is he worth a Day 3 (possibly even a Day 2) pick?

CrazyCarl40
Not sure what the purpose of drafting a third project QB would be. Unless the cut Petty, I doubt that they touch this kid or any other QB. If he goes undrafted there's no harm. I just don't see it though.

Kelly would actually be able to play at some point next season and be effective unlike Chris Hackenturd

He's coming off a second knee surgery. He has off the field problems. He has some issues on the field as well. He's a project.

Everything I've read on him suggests that the only concerns with him are with his behavior off the field. Some have said he'd be a first round pick if it weren't for that. joewilly12
Former Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly barred from NFL combine Matt Fortuna,Dr. Saturday Fri, Feb 17 8:57 AM PST Former Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly has been barred from the NFL combine. (Getty) Chad Kelly was not on the official invite list to the NFL combine. But the former Ole Miss quarterback might still travel to Indianapolis for it. One of Kelly’s agents, Van McAllister, told Buffalo’s 1270 Radio on Wednesday that Kelly had been invited to the combine on Jan. 6 and booked travel to Indy upon his initial invitation. “Until we get a written disinvite or whatever you want to call if from the league, we’ll be in Indy,” he said. “We’ll show up and they’ll have to tell Chad ‘no’ then because they’ve obviously not willing to put it in writing to tell Chad ‘no’ now.” The AP, citing a source, reported that the NFL barred Kelly from the combine because of charges stemming from a 2014 fight outside a Buffalo nightclub and for being kicked off the team at Clemson that year. Kelly, the nephew of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, was the SEC’s leading passer (2,758 yards) in 2016 before tearing the ACL and lateral meniscus in his right knee. [Follow Dr. Saturday on social media: Twitter | Facebook | Tumblr] McAllister said he has received no explanation from the NFL, which had issued a memo to teams Jan. 18 giving reasons why players would not be allowed at the combine — convictions for violent or sexual offense, or school or NCAA dismissals. “By no means at all are we trying to say Chad didn’t have some issues off the field that aren’t to be in question,” McAllister said. “And we’ve been questioned by multiple NFL teams on multiple occasions about these incidents. But what we want to know is why all of a sudden now does the NFL feel Chad is not material to be at the combine?” Kelly had to be restrained during the fall when a brawl broke out at his brother’s high school game. He was never charged. Ole Miss’ pro day is April 3. Kelly is also allowed to meet with NFL teams individually.
RSJ
Kelly seems a little immature - but he can play. I would love the Jets to pick him because you could stick him on IR for a year. If he was healthy the whole year and didn't have a thing for whores, he would probably be a top 5 pick.
