That being said, even as a Yankee fan, if you do something like that, you deserve to be punished severely. 81 games, half a season missed without pay. They all don't have the revenue the Yankees do, thanks to being in the New York market.. How can you compare the Yankees "ability to pay" to lets say Tampa Bay or Pittsburgh, or Colorado? MLB needs what the NFL has, a hard salary cap. A salary floor would be good too. The Yankees would be worth nothing without the rest of MLB to play against.
